nah. A bike should be clean and shiny. Part of making sure it is in good working order is cleaning it, so you inspect it as you clean it.
Remember: A bikes natural position is laying on the ground.

I'm not a hipster and I'd ride one after I fully inspected it. I'm not riding some hack job but I think they look pretty cool.
