Rancid albums

Me too, Rancid/AFI/The Distillers when I was 15 was one of my first shows. Good times.

Distillers first album was good. I'm from a small town, and the singer of the distillers is why I decided to move to a city ASAP after high school.
"there are women like that out there? I must go seek them"

2000 and Let's Go are my favorites. AOCTW would be next I guess.

OpIvy changed my life, Rancid never could get out from under the shdaow to me. If that makes any sense

Thread brings me back haha

I'm a huge Distillers fan (as you can probably tell by my sig), but to me their last two albums were far better than the first. Coral Fang is the best imo. Although SSDH has a lot of really good songs as well.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Lars didn't write a single song on Let's Go. I have no idea how you can say he had too much influence on that record. It's abundantly clear that he wasn't very involved. And Out Come The Wolves is where he became far more involved - and that's pretty unanimous for being their best record.

No offense, but you really have no idea what you are talking about. Those songs were re-catered for Lars backup prowess prior to recording. Originally most were sketches for Tim's style from the self titled record.

Care to know how I know for certain? PM me so I don't have to be an ass.

I don't really care to have a long debate about this as I'm not a big Rancid fan. It is an indisputable fact that Lars had much less influence on Let's Go than he did on And Out Come The Wolves. He didn't write a single song on Let's Go - an indisputable fact. He was involved in the writing of every song on And Out Come The Wolves - an indisputable fact.

I share almost the opposite opinion of you in regards to Lars vs. Tim with their music. I find And Out Come The Wolves to be a much better album than Lets Go. I think it's due to Lars influence. It's pretty clear Lars style is much harder with an oi influence. He's out there putting out stuff like Lars and The Bastards as well as Old Firm Casuals. Tim's putting out shit like The Transplants (lol). Honestly, I think their styles clash a little bit. It can work on some songs, but they really are pulling in two different directions.

I do agree that Rancid put out too many songs. I think Lars is still doing that with Old Firm as well.

.

I share this opinion.

Good to see a lot of different responses.

I also really like the distillers, saw them live when I was 16 or 17, My favorite song is probably 'sick of it all'. Brody is in the spinerettes now though isn't she? Didn't really check that out but they have some decent songs I think.

Badass shirt, would consider buying. Love it.

And Rancid is the shit.

the last two are definately the worst. I saw them just before christmas and was thankfull they didnt play anything new, also lars shut the fuck up for a change! i cant stand that guy, he is just embarrasing. Have been going to see them live for about 15 years and they are still one of the most fun gigs I go to. If i had to put them in order of best to worst I would probably go with the order they were released. Rancid 93 being the best.
