'Rampage' Jackson at Heavyweight in the UFC?

Rampage has one fight left with Bellator until he is basically forced to go to the UFC. He wanted a true heavyweight fighter in Bellator, but they offered him King Mo. Is this Heavyweight fight a sign that he wants to try and make a solid push in the UFC at HW or is it just a lazy thing?

The HW division isn't that strong in the UFC.

How does Rampage do against this list of Heavyweights when he is weighing 250lbs+ ?

5-7 and 9 are favored clearly over him.

8 and 10 might be pretty close although Struve is looking better these days...

I think JDS is closed to cooked, honestly. D-Lew isn't great and just struggled against a couple of dudes who aren't top 5.

That being said, Rampage is a LHW for a reason. Rumble couldn't even KO Arlovski, and he has the most power at LHW. Rampage wouldn't be a threat to the monters at HW. I'd pick every single one of those guys over 'Page easily.

How is he "basically forced to go to the UFC"? He can't get heavyweight fights or solid offers outside of the UFC, or is he "forced" because the UFC has most of the ranked heavyweights and, in your worldview, that supersedes everything else about fighting for some reason and anything other than that is a poor cousin?

Rampage at heavyweight just gives him an excuse to be lazy and slack on his diet.

At the very least, his process to drop to LHW keeps him disciplined.

I don't think he'd look good at heavyweight.

Maybe back when he was the UFC champ and still super hungry he could've moved up to HW and done it properly.

I don't have any faith for him to do such a thing In his current form though.

Love rampage though, but his diet / nutrition game is the weakest part of his game.
