Dos Anjos has literally fought every type of fighter, from technical strikers like Pettis, to hard hitting brawlers like Robbie, to long rangy guys like Magny, to countless suffocating wrestlers like Nurm, Usman, Colby, Guida, etc... from journeymen to division GOAT's he's fought them all.

Every time I look at Rafa's resume I think back to the vile mouth breathers who infested this place about 7 years ago, and dared to suggest he was ducking Conor when he got injured lol. Here we are 7 years later and Rafa is still being matched up with the killers across two of UFC's most stacked divisions, and Conor has like 1 win total in all that time.

But analyzing Rafa's track record, I believe tonight is a very winnable fight for him. He obviously doesn't do well against the cardio grapplers and dudes who can hold him up against the cage. He's got strong grappling himself and he's not getting finished or completely overwhelmed even by his worst statistical matchups, but he's clearly got issues dealing with strong wrestlers who can bully and overpower him, especially at WW.

That said, he seems to be a very tough matchup for the technical striker types, Pettis, Cerrone, Felder, etc... guys who are willing to circle around with him and exchange strikes don't tend to do very well vs Rafa, and Fiziev is one of those guys for sure.

I like Fiziev, I think he's really good but I don't see RDA as an underdog in this fight at all. To me it's closer to a tossup, Fiziev is not gonna try to wrestle (and he'd probably lose the wrestling if he did). He will do his usual stand and trade, and I think RDA does very well there. I don't bet often, but I put a few bucks on RDA as an underdog.

One of my all time favorite fighters btw, how do you not love RDA?

Anderson Silva is another one that fought every style.

Chael Sonnen - perhaps one of the best double leg takedown artist in UFC history.

Demian Maia - perhaps one of the best BJJ guys in UFC history

Vitor Belfort - explosive striker

Nate Marquardt - one of the most well rounded fighters in his era

Israel Adesanya - technical striker

Dan Henderson - perhaps the hardest hitting MW ever

Chris Weidman - the best wrestler of his time in the MW division

Bruh..

A like for the Marquardt mention! A truly MIXED martial artist with an incredibly deep, multifaceted game!

It's a shame we never got Anderson vs gsp. GSP was the king of the double leg.
I think it would have probably looked alot like Silva vs sonnen 1 though without the hail Mary triangle

Nope. Weightclasses exist for a reason.
GSP looked pretty uncomfortable in Bisping's guard.
Even Condit gave him issues and almost dropped him.
There is no place where Georges would be safe in a fight with Silva

Honestly i don't think GSP would've gotten Silva down. GSP's takedowns came from timing. Beautiful timing, but timing nonetheless. Not strength. Silva in his prime was the king of timing/distance management.

Hell, he showed beautiful TDD in the Sonnen rematch and the Brunson fight. Maybe GSP would get two takedowns on him but it would not win him the fight.

Conor was on fire at that time though and it only takes 1 shot with him. Definetly a technical striker type.

RDA has been around a long time, maybe he has 1 run left in him. He was saying he needs to feed his family and he doesn't get paid monthly or have a salary. That was kind of sad. Why TF is he not doing something in Brazil? Like own a school or something? Anyway, hope he gets the W.

oh shit. My bad. I meant ufc 3.
It took me awhile to enjoy the new mechanics but i dig it.

i had a lot of fun with 1 and 2 back in the day.

4 seems crappy though
Amen brother. Bought 4 and returned it the next day, I mean why the fuck would they completely change the controls again, it's just stupid.

Still play 3, and hate playing vs Dos Anjos, he's really tough to beat everywhere.

He was on fire vs little 145'ers, never KO'd anyone above featherweight.

Rafa was a terrible matchup for him imo, Conor had a small chance to get a TKO early, after that it would have been a beatdown for him.

i think he could take andy down, but not to the extent sonnen did

size matters a lot in wrestling

but on the otherhand, he was more composed on the feet than many of anderson's foes

i could see this fight being a staring contest with an split decision, as crazy as it's sound

anderson did not lead that well and if he ever over commited, he could be taken down

It’s mma everyone who has been around a while usually fights every style.

RDA is undersized at 170 but he's a stud for taking fights at that weight class against tough opponents. I think he is one of those guys who might benefit from catchweights or if there was a weight class between LW & WW.

Haven't seen the lines but RDA should be favored unless he fell of a cliff and got old overnight (it's a possibility).

Dude had no business at WW. Despite winning a few fights there he was undersized and could not use his best weapon which is his grappling.

I think he should have never left LW. He got caught against Eddie and lost a 48-47 decision against prime Tony in a fight Ferguson cheated. He was still a top 5 fighter and could have been for a while.

IDK how good Fiziev TDD is but that is going to get tested tonight.
