In what will come as a surprise to few, if anyone, "Rampage" says that Jon Jones is "the dirtiest fighter ever." I'm sure that I've heard him make statements like this before, but this is a new statement detailing Jackson's stance on Jones.

Quinton Jackson thinks Jon Jones’ style of fighting is dirty.

Jackson challenged Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) for the light heavyweight title at UFC 135 in 2011, but fell short when he was submitted in Round 4. “Rampage” marked Jones’ first title defense, and he went on to become the greatest 205-pounder of all time.

Although Jackson admits he felt better than ever health wise in the fight, he thought some of Jones’ tactics in the fight weren’t clean. Jackson pointed to Jones’ tendency to stick his fingers out, which has caused him to accidentally poke fighters in their eyes on numerous occasions.

“Jon Jones is a great fighter. Even if he was standing in this room I would say it. But he’s the dirtiest fighter ever,” Jackson said in an interview with Chris Van Vliet. “The guy is so smart. He does the most dirtiest things.

Jackson details the worst offenses by noting Jones' propensity for trying to injure other fighters with questionable tactics, specifically, eye pokes and kicks to the kneecap.

“If you’re doing anything good on him, he’s going to poke you in the eye. If you’re advancing or doing anything good or you get the advantage, he’s going to kick your knee backwards.”

Jackson recalls getting kicked in the kneecap by Jones, which he says hindered his movement for a while.

So, we have one more person saying that Jones is a dirty fighter. Will we see Jon use these tactics in the HW division? Will they work anymore, now that Jones won't have the size advantage he did at LHW? Should "oblique kicks," as Rogan calls them, be banned in the UFC? Should refs be deducting points for eye pokes more often? Discuss.

Yup. His eye pokes were an intentional strategy, no question.

I'm pretty sure at one point Greg Jackson was even caught and quoted as telling his fighters to "take the free fouls" and poke people in the eyes, kick groins, etc. Because you usually get several warnings before a point is taken, and using those free fouls give you an advantage.

Meh. Page is a sore loser. Always been.
Cry about oblique kicks when it always existed (and is allowed) in MMA.

Yes, anyone who targets the eyes or knees fights dirty, be it legal or otherwise.

The "Oblique kick" term was long before Rogan. It's a common kick and term in JKD and is call so because of the angle that it's thrown. I don't see them as a dirty tactic at all. The eye pokes are an obvious foul that Jones and others have used knowing they will get away with it.

I think it's a bit crazy to call kicking the knees "dirty" when it is a 100% legal and valid attack.

Eye pokes on the other hand.... obviously illegal and dirty, but the onus has to be more on the refs there to take points and penalize fighters who do it. Otherwise there just isn't any incentive not to do it.
