Heres a quick review on some everlast flexcool hand wraps. I usually dont enjoy any type of gear my family gets me for christmas. They'll usually get me something you can find at any sporting goods store or walmart so when I saw these in my gift bag I wasnt expecting much, but once I opened them I realised I had a legit piece of gear in my hands and these would be getting put to use.

These wraps are very stretchy and have little breathing holes. I dont know how long they will hold up or if that little feature even helps but it doesnt seem like it will be an issue. It seems like it all depends on the inside if your gloves. The more abrasive the more its gonna wear these out. Thats just my opinion though, I havent had them long enough to really see what theyre made of. I've only used them for a couple rounds on the heavbag & double end bag with my 16oz gloves.
*Update*
Sparred a couple rounds with these and my hands felt great. It took me a while to wrap my hands though, it doesnt seem like its getting easier to wrap them, everytime its a pain. You have to keep tension on them while wrapping.

I usually focus on my knuckles a little more than my wrists when wrapping. When I use normal mexican handwraps sometimes its hard to make a good fist because theres not much give in the wraps or theres too much around my palm/knuckles. Thats the cool thing about these. They have a lot more flex so when you make a fist it feels really good.

Personally I love these wraps(when I wrap them right) They're deffinitely not for everyone though. Im still playing with them and trying to figure out the best tension to wrap my hands. You cant wrap them too loose but you cant stretch them too tight when youre wrapping or you'll just cut off circulation. I found it a little harder wrapping with these. All in all I would not reccomend them to everyone. If you have trouble making a good closed fist in normal wraps, try these if a friend has them or see if someone at your local gym has them. They cost about 15 bucks. I wont buy another set. They take longer to wrap than normal wraps do, it took a lot longer for me to get ready to spar.

*Update*
Id rate them a 5/10 only because they dont have these wraps in more colors, not much wrist suport, difficult to wrap, a bit bulky(good for gloves with a bigger hand compartment though) , and the velcro straps were too long for me. Other than that I feel these were a nice change from my pbs mexican handwraps and give me a softer hitting surface over my knuckles. I use them once or twice a week, just to try to see if they grow on me. Ive seen a guy at the gym using these and he had them wrapped with no tension at all, I guess some people will make that mistake and wrap them too loose. These wraps also smell a little like rubber and leave your hands smelly like an ace bandage after sparring a couple rounds. Youre either gonna love these or hate them.

Nice review!!! I have been looking at these.....nice to be able to read someones take.

Thanks for the review.

For the few rounds you did use them. Did you find these wraps lighter or cooler than a regular pair of wraps?

Thanks guys!!

With gloves on you wont notice much of a difference in terms of weight or ventilation. They seem to breath just a little bit better than normal wraps when shadow boxing or warming up. Id say maybe 1-2% cooler than normal wraps, once youre hands fully wrapped most of the little vent holes are covered so I dont think they do much. They feel just like normal wraps to me to be honest. If there is a difference in weight or coolness when training its very minimal.

Thank you very much for this review bro. Very nice wrap job too, btw.

Thanks for the update, Z28MARO.

How long are the wraps?

Interesting concept, but for the price, it doesn't seem to offer much benefit over a regular set of wraps. I could be wrong though. Keep us posted on how they perform long term.

I have these wraps as well I could have swore I did a video review on them didn't I? Crap maybe I didn't post it, I got them when blackfriday hit for 4.99 each.

Called up my local Dicks Sporting Goods. They have these in store. Gonna run out tomorrow and pick up a pair. I gotta try these.

The benefit is the stretchyness of these wraps. They form to your hand really nice and its very easy to make a solid fist with these. I like them. If I was you I'd try a set, you may like them you may not but theyre deffinitely worth a try. Im a fan of the stretchy wraps.

That's good to know. Most of my wraps are G&S. They are stretchy, but very thick. Great for my wrist, but it's harder to make a solid fist with them.

I might have to put these on my wish list.

I combed through the post twice to make sure I didn't miss the size. Didn't read the fine print on the photo. :icon_lol:

It's in the title. Don't worry about it. Everyone misses something every once in a while.

For those of you with these and experience with other everlast handwraps, how do they compare with their older versions?

I think I'll take a seat in the corner now.

I one upped you rsk. I just found out right now the size of the wraps after wondering since the thread popped up how long they were. My girlfriend calls me the dumbest smart person she's ever met. quite fitting

Since these are expensive wraps (when not on sale), I'll chime in to warn those about to drop some dough. These wraps will give you very little to no wrist protection. Because of the price, lack of wrist stability, and given how easy it is to cut off circulation to your hands, I would not generally recommend these wraps.

They do, however, offer great knuckle protection due to the sponginess of the material. I think these wraps are okay to wear in, say, tokushu gloves, which have great wrist stability by themselves.

For perspective, I have not tried other brands' extra stretchy wraps, but I normally wear the ringside mexican wraps, the everlast 180s, or the title semi-elastic mexican ones.

If wrist stability is not an issue for you and you're used to dealing with extra stretchy wraps (beyond the semi-elastic mexican style ones), you may like the novelty of them.

I have these and I dont like them for a couple of reasons:

-it is practically impossible to find the balance so you don't cut your circulation and wrap tight for a good fist.
-material is very thick bulky and "scratchy"
-i didn't find them cooler than other wraps, in fact I think they were hotter due to the thick material

I personally cant recommend them to anybody and won't be using mine. Regular yellow everlast wraps all the way for me.

After using these for a couple days straight and putting them through some rounds. It all depends on how tight you wrap them.. The velcro straps on mine were too long so I cut them to the right size. Ive had to re wrap one time hitting the bags because the wraps started to feel loose, after that I havent had a problem with them. As stated, theres not much wrist protection on these either. Im still using them, I still havent put as much use into them as id like too. I feel like these are softer so they wont make your fist as hard which can be good and bad. The material is also kind of abrasive as stated because of the holes. I changed my score on these mainly because the wrist support. For what they are I still like them. I only use them for boxing and feel I get better knuckle protection. Theyre deffinitely not for everyone but I like them because theyre different.

I have these and they sit in my bag as my emergency pair. Like said before, horrible wrist support and compared to my other everlast 180 wraps, no difference in breath ability. I do notice they wick away moisture better than my other wraps. I do find them bulkier and my hands are large for a woman to begin with so in my 12oz gloves they suck. I bought them in November so I want to give them another shot in the sweltering summer months and see if there's a difference as I sweat like a beast.

I finally used my pair that I bought from a big box store. I love them!!! My other wraps are starting to get worn out and I think I will start replacing one at a time with these Flex Cool wraps. As others have said....they allow me to make a fist with ease and I wrap extra around the wrist for support.
