Baldness Cured? Breakthrough Serum Grows Mice Hair Back in Just 20 Days

Researchers from National Taiwan University have developed a serum that caused hair regrowth in mice in just 20 days, raising questions about what the finding means for the treatment of human baldness.

"Though we did not test these fatty acids in human skin directly in clinical trials, our results suggest these fatty acids might also work in human to stimulate our hair follicle stem cells to promote hair growth," Dr. Sung-Jan (Jerry) Lin, one of the authors of the study and a professor in the department of Biomedical Engineering and department of Dermatology at the National Taiwan University, told Newsweek.

A cure for baldness could be on the horizon.

Researchers from Taiwan University say they have discovered a serum that could potentially regrow hair in just 20 days.

The study, published in the journal Cell Metabolism, showed that fat cells under the skin can restart hair growth.

NEW STEM CELL THERAPY SHOWS ‘PROMISING’ RESULTS FOR TREATING HAIR LOSS IN PRECLINICAL TRIALS

The researchers used mouse skin samples to monitor changes to the fat tissue under the skin, as well as to the hair follicles and the cells that help hair grow, after they caused small injuries to trigger certain reactions, according to a press release.

After skin injury, fat cells began breaking down stored fat in a process called lipolysis. Fatty acids were then released into the skin, which acted as a signal for hair stem cells to grow.

Could have swore this past year I saw an article saying some sort of sweetner or similar can regrow hair. Didn't say it's ready for humans.

Everything should be natural in life. The bald go bald. Etc etc
You sir sound like a man that has given up!
I am about to book a flight to Taiwan!!!!

The human race should benefit from smart scientists making anti-bald cures. Don't let any trouble maker countries get any.

If taiwan ever get jumped by china, i will volunteer to help just for this

They need to hurry the hell up! Losing a lot of prime time here being bald as a mother.

Nice. I’ve been blessed with good hair DNA, with a full head of thick hair still at 59, but this will be a game changer for so many if they can make it work in humans.

Yes! Just what the world needs, hairy mice!

Would be nice if it worked on humans too of course.

In other news, large numbers of extremely hairy mice have been terrorizing Taiwan. Police report that the mice "seem to posses almost human levels of intelligence, including the ability to fashion weapons from household items, and are displaying a predilection for consuming human flesh"

Don't get me wrong - probably still worth it to the baldies

Meh, its part of getting older. I've been shaving my head for many years now. I don't care, women don't seem to care.
