Found an old message in internet where one of top guys of my country back then was called to help train dan henderson against rampage in ufc 75 and he goes in detail on "weekly regime".
This is written in finnish so i will translate it to english here also take some things with humor,this guy has that forrest griffin type humor
this is second week of camp
Monday
boxing mitts for 3x5 min,thai pads 3x5 min, 5 min of wrestling (Lawal)
in evening punch-kick combinations followed by takedowns, hard mma sparring 5x5 min with boxing gloves (Lawal, Sokoudjou, Mayhem, Krzysztof Soszynski and some uknown guy)
Tuesday
in morning pullup /kettlebell /rope climb/ sledgehammer swings with absolutely no sense and no point.
"crossfit until ultimate stupidity is accomplished"
in evening positional sparring with themes like standing back up, keeping someone down and wall wrestling for 40 minutes(Hendo, Lindland) mma sparring with mma gloves 3x5 min (Vinny Magalhaes, JT taylor).
Wendsday
stand up sparring without takedowns 5x3 min ( (Sokoudjou, Jorgen Krut) some bag work (i took a break every time coach wasnt looking,i was already exhausted from this week)
in evening wall wrestling with themes 5x5min (Hendo, Soszynski, Sokoudjou, Mayhem, JT Taylor) and mindless bagwork on the edge of consciousness.
Thursday
same crossfit circuit thing that was on tuesday. "Top guys" do not do this except when ufc countdown filming crew came in then hendo did the scripted scene where he swung some ropes and went home immediatly.
Its us "middle level" guys that have to do this or get reputation as a "lazy guy". i slacked off as much as i could.
in evening hard mma sparring with boxing gloves 7x5 min (Sokoudjou, Mayhem, Soszynski, JT Taylor, Lindland, Hendo, Krut) mentally and physically hardest 35 minutes of my life.
I puked and had diarrhea at night and also felt feverish and had cold sweats.
Friday
i could not go to morning practise, got called lazy and that i have no work ethic
in the evening shark tank mma sparring where i "suprisingly" got picked to be in the middle while Magalhaes,Soszynski and JT Taylor switch each minute. After training i cried in the bathroom.
Saturday
in the morning Magalhaes shows some choke, sokoudjou some judo trip and krut kickboxing technique. I cant focus and i spent my time watching the clock.
sparring today is optional so i say fuck that.
Rest of the day i spent sleeping, in total depression having cold sweats,thinking about quitting and flying home because i dont use gear.
Most of the guys spent their day in san diego picking up chicks and on the beach because they are on the gear.
come monday the meatgrinder starts again, shark tank, in the middle....
