Like I told @Good Ole Stannis's BBQ, it's mostly the journalist, not the Argentine themselves.

Once Messi definitely retires, they're going to name some streets in Argentina after him like they did with Diego Milito.

Argentina is my favorite football country. They have the most passionate fans in the world.

He deserves more.

Kempes, Passarella, Riquelme, Bati deserve all that. Messi does and more imo.

Like Brasil, I love watching them play but they can be very bad and their fans can sometimes suck which is a turn off.

Footy players autobiographies had gotten really stale, full "i love pints of lager, steak & chips" banging pg3 models, fighting other players & hanging out with Rod Stewart pap

After Adam's "confessional" it lit a fire up the genre's ass & a lot of players soon followed suit cashing in on a new wave of "deep moral inventory" "keeping it real" books.


Best book ive read from player bio genre is still 'Left Foot Forward' about a journeyman player who kept a journal on the weekly goings on of a lower paid player struggling to stay a pro footy player, from back in the 90's.

It's a problem with a lot of celebs agents are to blame as usual. Getting in their ears making sure they release two or three sub par books through out their career instead of one good one at the end. I have the secret footballer on my shelf but never gotten around to reading it.
