I'm not missing the point, mate. I simply don't agree with you, and I'm giving the reasons why. Scoring goals is the hardest part of football. Cantona scoring a 'moments' goal is nice for you as a fan and for Man U, but it still has nothing to do with that season from Cole. I never said they should 'solely' be judged on goals, but it's a pretty big deal, and a 34-league goal season, which was a record for almost 30 years in the top flight of English football, is a MASSIVE deal. Trophy or no trophy.

All I've said is that was Andy Cole's best season, and I stand by that.

That Juventus squad was finished though; it was past its best. Ronaldo coming in wasn't why they got worse; they were declining and they gambled, and it didn't pay off. They thought he would be the difference maker in the Champions League.

That's because Keegan lost the plot, and Shearer got injured. We stopped scoring goals because we lost our best goal scorer. Once we got Shearer fit and got him back scoring (it took a while), we got back into the Champions League. He had some serious injuries.

Ok then, so by that logic you would agree that Liverpool is a greater club than Manchester United then. They have won more trophies than you.

Merely pointing out all goals are not equal in reality, whereas in stats they are.

Liverpool and United are pretty close I believe. They’re about to draw level in leagues and have us 6 vs 3 in European cups. Don’t really give a shit about nothing trophies like the European super cup or the League Cup.

Don’t know about “greater” but objectively yes they will be a more successful club, overall.

You see, that’s an unarguable fact, not a subjective thing like “Shearer was better than Kane”.

But Shearer has won more trophies though, and that's the only thing that counts when discussing the greats, right? 😁 Just bantering, mate.

I would say that Shearer at Blackburn in those three seasons before he joined us was the very best version of Shearer. He was still amazing for us, but injuries took their toll. He was really unlucky and had some serious injuries. They were still career killers for some people back then.

He almost quit when Sir Bobby was manager because he couldn't play like he used to. I think that was after his second cruciate operation. Robson gave him a slap and told him to stop feeling sorry for himself and figure out how to score again, and he completely changed his game and became a pure target man. He went on to score another 100+ goals.

Sir Bobby the legend ❤️

@Arqueto Decent game to watch - We were playing good in the 2nd half. Solid result that
I saw the equaliser; it was a good cross and a good header

I don't want no beef with Big Eagle Paule; he looks like he means business.
