That's a pretty hard choice to make...I would maybe go with Terminator 2, but not for much as I also quite liked Predator as a kid...

It's Predator for me.

Predator dont have any little kids in it.

Predator doesnt have any holding back on killing shit.

Its a simpler, more timeless story.

It's a strange comparison for me as they are very different movies to me.

I'll say Predator as I think the visual storytelling in it is much better. I just think Predator has a much more primal feel to it and was beautifully shot.

I assume most people think T2 is the better movie though. I think it's an amazing example of what it is.

Yeah I think T1 has the atmosphere and lean pure plot of Predator but also the dramatic weight of T2.

For me it's T2, but not by much and I can see arguments in favor of the Predator. I think T2 is more iconic and is deeper ingrained in mass culture.
I still watch both with pleasure after seeing them dozens of times.

Predator takes it for me. T2 is phenomenal but Predator is a damn near perfect action film.

Agree T2 had its lighter moments, but it's darker or more emotional moments were in the stratosphere:

The opening sequence/battle ending with the endoskeleton emerging from the flames

T-1000 going stabby through dudes mouth and the the guards eye

Sarah's dream and the attempted murder that followed

De-gloving Arnold's arm

That slow reformation of the T1000 after he got shattered

Thumbs up....

Coulda done without some of the humor from John, but I think the little humanizing of the T800 helped especially compared to the T1000 and to a lesser degree, Sarah.

I like the film noir 80s punk vibe of T1. I also like the way it was shot on the reasonable budget, and the use of stop motion for metal skeleton shots, etc.

I really like that film!

Super super hard choice but went with T2. Predator is phenomenal though and has the most beefcakes ever to appear in one film.

T2 is more iconic though. That and Aliens are the best blockbuster films ever made Imo. Plus you have that Guns N Roses video where Arny goes to the stage to execute Axel but his interface says "waste of ammo" or something like that. Amazing!
