Thinking about DDP vs Strickland make me realize that you can have the better stand up(Strickland) and still be predicted to ktfo cause your opponent has way more power. So I wanna ask, is it better to have the stand up edge of the power edge. Some people have both(Poatan), some have neither(Jamahal Hill), but what if you could only have one or the other?

Ugly technique doesn't equal "bad" technique.
It wasn't long ago before people were laughing at Pereira and Stricklands defence for being bad... despite barely getting hit even before their high level wins. Even Anderson Silva had "bad" fundamentals but he is the best counter striker MMA has seen.

Hill is one of the best strikers around, period, and can knockout anyone. It's also incredible how fast he improved his ground game skills.

While I do agree, Whittaker is a very crafty striker with elite footwork and was knocked down by the "no look jab" technique.
Sometimes good timing and offence can hide bad defensive habits and DDP + Brunson are perfect examples of that.... on paper overhand rights and check hooks should kill them.

Strickland is going to outclass duplesis. P. I love duplesis style. As it’s wild he’s always in trouble every fight and it’s a knock down drag out war.

You’re not going to make a war with Strickland. And duplesis is always gassed after 5 mins. Can’t avoid a jab. Gets hit with everything and has a ton of heart. And gives it back while on the verge of death after 3 mins.

I thought Hill had decent hands (speed & power), not soul taking power but alright for the division.

If those 7 posts contain a consistent running theme of shitting on the same championship-level fighter and insisting you could beat said fighter in a fight... I feel confident in labeling that person a troll. Sometimes the sample size doesn't need to be massive if the level of stupidity is sufficiently high.

I am a troll cause I don't like an unskilled thug like Hill? Ok bro. Hill is a terrible terrible example of our sport, and is proof any bum on the street can have a decent career if they are moderate fast for the division. This guy was crying at 283 like a little girl for no reason, like he didnt win a paper belt.

He should have been cool like a man but no he cried cause he was a "champion" and this was his "life's dream", now he thinks he has confidence against Periera instead of admitting that he has very little to no chance against him, and he should have to go back in line to fight ranked contenders(at least 2 or 3), instead of having the next shot when he gets back.
