As a fan of both, it was an unreal first round. Real edge-of-your-seat action. Unfortunately for Chandler, he needs a W more than he needs an exciting fight at this point. Poirier on the other hand looked great, was calm under fire, and made a great comeback. . . although his fight IQ in round 2 was a bit puzzling.

Yeah I think Chandler could've won if he'd decided to wrestle instead of put on a show, but man Poirier looked great. I hope they don't send him to the TS again...I hope Dariush gets the next shot after Volk

At 145 maybe but at 155 he ate bombs from Michael f'n Chandler.

He is solid at still reacting while recovering. He doesn't freeze and he has pretty good defense. He also commented on Chandler still winging bombs that he could see. That's the difference between him and a guy like Poirier. Poirier is excellent at pouring it on once someone is hurt with a lot of combos.

Most of those bombs hit his arms. One person fought smart, the other did not.

Chandler fucked up tbh. He as winning the first, got wild and clipped.
dominated the 2nd round
was on his way to complete a slam and get top control until he fucked up in a scramble and got choked out.
Dustin only shined for about a minute in the entire fight which was the knockdown/flurry late in the first, and the scramble to finish in the 3rd.
He had the opening and finished the fight, so good for him.

Dustin can definitely be hurt but he is one of the toughest guys ever. The amount of wars he's been in and come out on top. The number of times he's fought through adversity and triumphed. Taking the other guys best shots. Gaethje, Alverez, Max, Green, Hooker, Conor, Chandler... Unbelievable.
Yeah he loses to guys who can outgrapple him but in a good ol brawl Poirier is the man.

His composure in chaotic fights with JBG type of fighters is impressive. Dude can stay in the fire, but also fights strategic at the same time.
