It's a joy to watch, Dustin's power punching vs Oliveira's MT knees, they were really tearing eachother apart early in the fight. This fight reminds me a lot of Cormier vs Jones 2. It's a pace that you very rarely see at this level. Maybe more in the lower weights because the strikes have less impact.

This was just a killer pace, I'm trying to think of other fights from LW and up where they went at it right away like that.

The way Oliveira shut down Dustin's signature shifting combo (the one he landed on khabib, max, and many others) was absolutely beautiful. Within the first 15 seconds, oliveira had already shown two answers for that combo. I might make a thread with a bunch of gifs about it soon if I find the energy.

Olivera was keeping up a relentless pace and he wasn’t getting tired either.

Dustin who has good cardio looked more winded.

Olivera was showing Sean Sherk level cardio in that fight.

His cardio isn't as good when he's forced to clinch and grapple, not to mention the numerous kicks and knees to the body.

Thats a stupid comment. Most hws lhw mws cant put the pressure of ww, lw, fw,bw unlesd they want to gas out first minute

Well Olivera has the better cardio and out worked him. I was really impressed with Charles cardio. He wasn’t even a bit tired

I have a feeling Chandler vs Priorer will also be fireworks and between them Charles and Justin they can keep having great rematches too. Sucks to be islam or dariush right now. You win and do everything right but these guys are just more entertaining

Do it bro i'd love to see it. One of the best posters on here fr

Why???

Gaetjhe is getting his second TS with just one win.

Dustin is a big name and nearly finished Charles in the first round. Depends on who he fights ofc but i bet one big win (e.g. Chandler), two at most, he is right back there.
We had a vacant belt so Gaethje is not getting a rematch against the champ who already beat him. Different champ, very different fight.

Dustin might need two wins just because Justin has this shot and the winner of Islam vs. Dariush probably gets the one after that. Depends who he beats and how long he chooses to sit out.

not as high on technique, but from memory the Clay Guida vs Diego Sanchez fight started off at full blast

Is this for me? My reply was to somebody who said Dustin would need at least 3 wins at least. I think Dustin is not that far from another TS. You need to factor in that Dustin is a big name nowadays and almost finished Charles in the first round, that's also part of the argument for a rematch. For example, you can bet the house that Chandler would have gotten another TS had he beaten Gaethje.

Besides that I agree with everything you said especially the red part.

He was also going to the body with his knees and stabbing teep - no matter how tough or in shape you are that will drain you. If head hunted or tried chopping legs he'd have gone the same way justin, eddie, max and conor went. Dustin is tough, recovers get and can walk through fire. None of that matters when your body is shutting down from hard body shots.
