The NFL is classified as "sports entertainment". However, fixing games would still open them up to severe legal liability on several fronts. I'm sure things happen, but it's not scripted like 'rasslin. Just my $0.02, though.

There hasn't been much accountability for blatant corruption in sports (beyond some players and referees?) so the liability apparently is theoretical.
