Patricio pitbull wants both titles at the same time. Is calling out Joe warren for a fight in January. Hope it happens. Also willing to defend FW title in February

talk about a first title defense that would even be better than a galvao rematch.

I like the fight, and that Pitbull wants to make some notoriety being a 2 division champ at the same time...

But I would have 1 issue with it...

145 has Weichel and Strauss in line, and I'm sure Curran as well (AND Frodo if he gets a Visa)... And with Goiti, Neves, Jenkins, Georgi, and many others, the division will be ripe with solid title contenders for some time.

I know he says he wants to defend the 145lb title quickly, but saying and doing are two very different things.

(side note: if Warren wins, would he get the 145lb title? I know in boxing that you can win a higher weight classes title because technically you are under the limit of that weight class as well, but in MMA is their a minimum weight per division? Can someone under 136 fight in an official 'Featherweight fight'?)

As cool as it would be, it doesn't make any sense in my mind. You've got Weichel waiting and then by that time Curran/Straus may have won another fight. And if Pitbull found a way to make 135 and wins? You just kill a division that is already pretty weak in Bellator.

Featherweight is Bellator's best division it isn't one the champ should be jumping to other divisions to fight guys at.

IDC what Pitbull wants. He would beat Warren (again...) and there's no reason to make that fight. FW is full of fights to make, no reason to put this together. I know Viacom is committed to destroying Bellator, but this would be a joke. Spend the $$$ and get Bibi in to fight Warren. Let Pitbull fight one of the many contenders at 145..

As BS as the first fight was, it was a good fight and it'd be a great rematch. Both guys have really come into their own.

why y'all acting like he won't take fights at 145 still? he said he'd fight for the FW title the following month. Pitbull always stays active

Let him do it Bellator needs a spark, a two division champ would be cool and they could market him as a P4P guy if he wins.

Would also allow him to burn through his contract real fast so he can jump over to the UFC.

I'm down for that.

They wont do it though, its not smart having a champ hold two belts, he gets hurt you put two divs on hold.

Catchweight maybe, think if they want they can let both of them win a few fights, DW, Straus, let Warren rematch Dantas and then LC/Silva winner and then maybe look at a champ vs champ superfight at a catchweight.

Pitbull has business at 145.

That's probably what he wants. + he also knows Warren is an easier fight than the top 3 or 4 guys at FW.

look at the bj penn vs gsp fights and theres your answer ^^

They fought at 170, right? So they were out of the weight class to include BJs title, right?

Do the weight classes enforce a minimum weight? Meaning, if someone comes in at 135, can they fight for the 145lb title?... I ask because I remember Dan Henderson making an effort to break 205lbs when fighting Fedor, to make it an 'official' HW fight.

No. wouldn't make sense. the lowest you can be for a fw fight is 136 and the highest you can be for a BW title fight is 135 on the dot

Have Pitbull defend against Weichel and Strauss & Warren defend his belt at least once then can have look into having this match up.

I don't personally like the idea of a champ that hasn't even defended his belt yet fighting for a second belt.

I admire Pitbull's ambition and think he would ultimately win if the ever fought again, but I kind of want to see both try to reign as champions and I wouldn't mind seeing Dantas get a rematch with Warren either. I've always wanted to see Pitbull at 135 though so there's a possibility...

Did any media score that fight for Pitbull?

I think he won the first. He definitely lost the 3rd. And I think the 2nd was pretty clear for baddest man, too.

Was a good fight anyway, though.
