People need to stop undermining DDP's run and legacy.

I just read someone trying to claim DDP's run was against aging champions and contenders. His run is in the top 5 all time in the sport. Up there with Ilia's run (Olives, Volk, max), Islam's run (Volk x2, Oliveira), and Merab (Yan, O Malley x2, Umar, Sandhagen, Cejudo).

He lost one fight to undefeated beast and he was never good?

DDP is definitely in the hall of fame. He beat Whittaker who had won 4 of his last 5, his only loss, a split decision to prime Izzy he arguably won.

He beat Sean Strickland at Stricklands peak, right after he had just dog walked Izzy, for the title.

Then he beat Izzy, who I will agree was aging, but still, had lost to Strickland, but Ko Alex fight before.

Maybe the second Sean win was not as good, but I wouldn't consider him aging, still in middle of prime.

No one can disagree.

Yeah it was a great run. Never looked that good but just kept winning. The Izzy bout was one of those rivalries that can define a title reign by itself.

40 year old Brunson gassed
Didn't look great vs Darren Till
Whitaker ran into a southpaw jab
- Lost the first Strickland fight
Adesanya was past prime, is 1 - 4, could be 1 - 5
- He did great in the Strickland rematch, figuring his style out

Good run, but did it in the ugliest way possible.

Not a top 5 run. Great champ yes.

Stop saying someone got dog walked. It's disrespectful you dog.

Hard disagree. I don't think people are undermining DDP's run as champ ENOUGH. Hall of fame? More like hall of LAME <lol>After watching that Khamzat "fight" I became convinced even my 52-year old self could take him down.

He needs to take a fight soon, nobody like inactive fighters specially coming from losses.

Top five ever? No fucking way.

That said, one bad loss and all your title defenses and ranked wins weren't shit on the Dawg. Just look above, lol.
sean whittaker and izzy are the best MWs of the past generation.... izzy never lost a non title fight until his last fight.... Rob's first non title MW loss was to DDP. Sean only has 1 controversial split loss at MW to cannonier, oh and of course poatan, who is a multiple time defending LHW champion...

He's an ATG at middleweight, there's no doubt about that.
Anderson, Izzy, Hendo, DDP, Whittaker

Chimaev will climb up there soon

DDP was an unconventional and entertaining champion.

Ilia, Islam, and Merab all had more impressive runs in divisions that are much deeper than MW.

Ilia KO'd 3 current or former champs in a row, including a guy who had never been KO'd. Islam finished all the guys in title fights (except Volk in their 1st fight), then went up and completed dominated the champ at the next weight class. Merab ragdolled people and put a pace and pressure on opponents we've never seen before and may never see again.

Does this mean DDP wasn't a good champ? Of course not. But he's not at the level of those others either. He got absolutely dominated when he lost the belt. If he got flash KO'd or something (e.g. like Aldo by Conor), you could argue he got caught. Khamzat ragdolled him for 5 rounds. It was a beatdown.
