with the upcoming rematch coming up i thought i'd go back and watch the first fight again.
My memories of the first fight are that it was a hugely enjoyable contest & was one of may favorite fights of 2013. I also had the memory that it was one of the best displays of boxing in mma to date, and finally that i was surprised one judge gave the nod to Pitbull (but i am a Pat Curran fan)
Having just rewatched it, i stand by saying it has some of the best boxing in an mma match i have ever seen. From Pat particularly, but both guys were technically very adept.
Round one was so close, presonally i think it's a good example for a 10-10 round, though at a push i'd give it to Pat (could be bias swaying me).
Round two was better for Pat, get off more shots and earlier.
Round three was the best round for Pitbull, no doubt he got it.
rounds four & five were the best, toe to toe, crisp boxing. Pitbull slowed considerably and Curran took advantage, by the end of the fight Pitbull was busted up. I would definitely give 4 & 5 to Pat.
enjoyed watching the fight again, and was still surprised one judge could give three rounds to Pitbull.
Just hope tomorrow nights fight is equally as good, can't wait t see them throw down again
