International Pakistan, Saudi Arabia sign defense agreement to treat an attack on one as attack on both

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday signed a defense pact pledging that any attack on either nation would be considered an attack on both.

The pact comes after rising tensions in the region following the Sept. 9 Israeli airstrike targeting Hamas in Qatar’s capital killed six people.

The agreement, called the “Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement,” was signed during Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the kingdom, according to a joint statement issued after his talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The agreement states that “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both,” according to a statement that was issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

Sharif traveled to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the crown prince, the statement said.

The countries expressed their commitment to both nations’ security and “peace in the region and world.”

The agreement “aims to develop aspects of defense cooperation between the two countries and strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression,” the statement said.

Pakistan maintains close ties with Saudi Arabia, a key supplier of oil to Islamabad.

Pakistan does have thermonuclear weapons and they not likely will gave 2 weeks to think 8.5 months in row like pump.

Plus they does have considerably more mobilization resources than Ukr and Russia taken together.

They will not be able to repell attack with ballistic missiles by using Patriot, about this they might forget and even not to try.


Will hope that U.S will install in Saudi Arabia THAAD battery with U.S servicemans like in Israel?

U.S does have 8 THAAD batteries, from these 1 is installed in Israel and 1 reserved for South Korea....
They might start to do math...

Plus THAAD is niche product for ballistic targets, it can't replace even stuff like NASAMS or IRIS, even Hawk btw....

So multi layered air defense should be used....
And Pakistan does have ...faster missiles than Iskander... even with these Patriot not always might deal with.

Another thing is that U.S ofc might use AEGIS and large ships with U.S servicemans to attempt repell Pakistan missiles.
Missiles are very expensive and difficult to produce and unlike with Patriot....
AEGIS and THAAD are served by U.S servicemans.
Patriot is mainstream export, 20 years plus in row and doesn't needs U.S servicemans to be used for battery. They does teach foreigners 2 decades for this.

Saudites aren't capable to use weapons in general... despite they does have money.


However they does have damn a lot of money and might offer discounts for crude oil.
They does have very huge crude oil resources and very low crude oil production cost ...therefore they might afford even 40 $ for barrel with smile ...and smash for example Russia.....

☆ if Pakistan will have very good crude oil supplies offers from Saudites ... then ... they will have hammer in negotiations with Putin to force Putin to sell them russian crude oil with huge discounts and also fertilizers....with cool discounts.

If about saudites I don't mean individuals but their military habits and command chain.

☆ for example they had installed Patriot battery to protect refinery. They does have a lot of $ and there 0 problems.

However they had installed radars in one place and didn't had bothered with multi layered air defense network at all.

Also ofc well known prayers hours schedule.

So housithes launched very cheap and slow low flying drones....A lot. In order to damage radars.
