I don't get the Paddy hype.

He is likely not an amazing future talent, as evident even against relatively mediocre opposition.

His character isn’t particularly likeable (subjective of course) nor he is charismatic with some kind of love/hate magnetic personality.

He is very unprofessional as an athlete, ballooning in weight way beyond any performance standards, training inconsistently, eating junk and generally showing a clear lack of discipline.

He has a somewhat silly hairstyle and a definitely silly nickname.

What’s the appeal??

Marketing potential with uk viewers. Another big personality to draw the numbers in.

Damn. Big fan of both guys, but Paddy's a nightmare style matchup for Jordan.

Hey I’m doing a presentation on the history of the ufc, I have to include what historical impact the ufc has had any suggestions on what to put??
Impact on the sport? What are you exactly looking for? You'll have to be more specific

Tell them it's bigger than soccer and call them all goofs. Also, Tank Abbott was on Friends.

I will not write your history project for you. Do your research since it seems that you don't even know where to begin.

People like the idea of a goofy British retard that's also having success as a professional fighter.

Say this to the man himself. @theufcbaddy kick his ass seabass

Everything we've seen points to him not being championship material. He just dosen't let being in front of the camera intimidate him into thinking he needs to put on an act, and just is himself. People like genuine people. It's why people like the Diaz's despite their faults, they won't ever compromise who they are for someone elses standards, and you can tell it's not an act. It's how everyone wishes they could be, but most don't have the courage to do so. And given that he dosen't take himself too serious and can joke around it draws people to him. But yeah don't expect him to actually make any kind of legit splash with his fighting skills. He's an alright grappler, but his striking is rudimentary. And his takedowns are not good enough from what i've seen and will fail him against the top of the division. But he is definitely an example that charisma can carry you a long way.

As soon as he gets knocked fuck out of him everyone forgets about him
We need to wait just wait

Did Paddy fuck your girl? Christ.

he’s an exciting fighter who worked his way up to the UFC by grinding in smaller orgs. What’s not to like?

Yea like the impact it in sports, like how Ronda Rousey paved the way for women’s mma

I see. Well, Don Frye and Dan Severn paved the way for how to be a man.

Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar had a famous fight that paved the way for people to piss in other people's fruit platters on television.

Fedor paved the way for how to make Dana White look like a clown and beat all of his champions.

The Contender Series paved the way for cheap mid-level talent and the elimination of grappling in the UFC.

Also, tell them to read June White's book and to watch Pride Decade. That should be enough for a presentation.

Something about the way he looks makes me uncomfortable. For that reason alone, I watch his fights in hopes of seeing him get smashed.

It's about markets. The UFC needs more UK star power.

I think Paddy is a good prospect but I'm not sure how good. He has a real penchant for blocking punches with his face and that will likely prove problematic as he climbs the ladder.
