I was just watching the recent Alistair Overeem fight in K-1 and I couldn't help but notice the footwear both fighters had on. Where can someone buy these and does anyone have any experience with this type of supports or have more detailed info about them?

They reminded me of those inexpensive cotton shin/forearm guards you would see in Karate or TKD stores but of better quality.

Great find, thanks! Is it just me or does it seem that this price is for one pad and NOT a pair?

It says lower on the page that it "contain a pair of set". Whatever that means.

Also, I like em. I might pick up a pair too.

Let us know what you find out, please!

I wish they had them in black. They have something similar in black but it looks like something different altogether. Elastic straps replace the ankle supporter in the white model.

You guys think these are just fighter's preference as far as rules are concerned? You are either a fighter how likes using the top of his foot offensively or you are a fighter who'd prefer to protect the top of the foot from errant strikes to knees, elbows, etc.? I've got a pair of these I wear under my shin guards for sparring after crushing the tops of me feet on hard parts of partners every other week. They've helped protect from further damage. I just wonder if they'd be allowed in any promotion that is otherwise bare-shinned.

You are correct. They are used more as a protective measure against errant hits to an elbow guarding the face or body. Also, they provide the user with some "gusto" on more precise kick target such as the liver (I personally use my instep and first half of my foot to hit a precision target like the side of the knee, or the liver) I should mention I have ONLY seen these worn in K1, or kickboxing style comps. I only see the ankle wraps, or CageFeet in the UFC, as they do not allow any additional padding other than trainers tape in a predetermined length administered by a trainer on location.

I kick REALLY hard, even with just natural momentum, and these things can be a life saver since I have to work on my feet all day at work. Only down sound is that it muffles that coveted "SLAP" sound that is instep to the inner or outer thigh on a good leg kick. But these are EXACTLY the style Overeem uses, albeit minus a small logo.

Totally believable story my friend. I was just providing a solution to the OP looking for THAT SPECIFIC WRAP. I am sure you could find a better quality one, but this is the site the good people ate Warrior-One directed me when I asked about their ankle wraps (Out of production).

As I stated above Overeems are SLIGHTLY different, but then again, they do not advertize these to be the most durable things on the planet. Especially since a K-1 fight lasts 9 Minutes lol. They are cheap as hell, so maybe if you bought two pair and rotated them out?

Just offering a suggestion. Its a cloth pad, so I wouldn't hit a heavy bag with them (not that I am kicking a heavy bag full force anyway, although I have my indulgences)

What does she use now?

We bought 10 pairs on title for 2$ each during their black-friday sale. We use them for injuries and not everyday training.

Cro-Cop uses wrestling shoes with foam foot protectors.

I could care less if Cro Cop's legs were made of silly putty wrapped in marshmallows and memory foam....

There is ZERO chance he is kicking me....

In all seriousness, those ankle wraps are NOT for everyday training, I prefer to tape up when I can, or use an ankle wrap.

MOST of the time I have on shin guards anyway when sparring, so usually I just slide a pair on at home to do some drills. I AM NOT ENDORSING THE PRODUCT I POSTED, as I do not use them, and have only used them twice EVER.

I just think black ankle wraps look cool, and provide slight stability...YMMV.
