Pablo Ortega - BJJ Black Belt?

I heard today that Pablo Ortega, owner of the gym formerly known as Barra Countryside, Countryside Stars, and currently known as Countryside BJJ, was awarded his black belt in BJJ. Can anybody on here confirm? Does anyone train with him?

FYI, this is Countryside, Illinois.

some quick google-fu reveals he is under Carlos Lemos, pretty legit dude. Why not ask him?

That's an old site. Lemos has his own Barra gym now in downers grove.

but there is a pic from 2010 in there with Pablo as a Brown belt with three stripes standing with Lemos, so him being black belt now is not a stretch

Yeah for sure, prob didnt get it under Lemos if they had a split so I wonder who he did grade under.....google was mysteriously difficult just looking for Pablo

That's a cool subtle swipe at Gracie Barra. If he was a brown belt with 3 stripes 2 yrs ago, then it would t be far fetched to get a black bet 2 yrs later. The difference between a 3 stripe person and the next belt level is not really great.

A recent photo shows that he now has one stripe on his black belt as well

Pablo is legit. He was personally responsible for the world level Jiu Jitsu of UFC contender Jason Reinhardt. A couple true badasses right there!
