I think overall for me it's been more positives than negatives that's for certain.

You learn best through the hard times, through tough mistakes, that's if you learn at all. But yeah I think I'm successful in the overall picture of things.

No question I failed in certain aspects in life, but it's few and far between. But you move and on and evolve hopefully improve yourself.

That's the key just to constantly get better, be more adaptive and efficient in life.

What say you?

There have been times when I wallowed in the belief that I was a complete and utter waste of potential. This was, in and of itself, wildly conceited. I make a damn good living, own my home, have a loving, faithful, and stable marriage. Healthy and happy kids. Good relationships with my extended family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.

What did I think I was supposed to do? Be that Navy SEAL/doctor/astronaut guy? I mean, I'd love to be able to say that but do you know how much white Monster would have to be in my fridge and missing neighborhood pets in my freezer to make that even a remote possibility?

I think everyone thinks they could have done more in their life. It's never ending pursuit of having to do more or having more, you never completely satisfied per se. It's just human nature.

I stopped thinking in such terms. It's all a process. A journey. A trip somewhere isn't a failure because you didn't get to check some boxes on your itinerary, it's a failure if you forgot to enjoy it and appreciate the moments you had. It doesn't matter anyway because the trip's going to end at some point anyway.

Doesn’t matter either way.

You’ll be forgotten quickly.

Get in and out as painlessly as possible, whilst having as much fun as you can and hurting as few as possible.

Hard one to say, I've done well but if I was healthy, I have an IBD condition which keeps me from being able to do many activities, I would be able to do much more.

Great point. It’s just really tough to keep that kind of perspective. But I think that’s the most realistic and healthy way to look at things.

I've definitely turned out way more successful than I was expecting as a kid

Very well said, thank you.

There are billionaires who think they’re failures because they don’t have another couple of zeros at the end of their net worth

The dick measuring contest never subsides if you keep comparing yourself to others

It just steals your happiness

Well said, just appreciate what you have and just put things in perspective.

I broke even I'm a little bit of a success but also a failure in some things. I'm still alive though and that is all that matters because I know a lot of successful wealthy people who died before me of health problems.

My life is in balance.

That does not mean that i am walking around like a Shaolin monk in a zen state.

It means that my life are made up my good things and bad things. Happy times and sad times.

Both comes and go through life. The most important thing is to remember that each periode dont last forever.

If I died today, I would know that I have at least made a positive impact on the world
