Frankly, the amount of Sherbros that want to watch Chimaev dry-hump Alex is concerning. It has to be one of the least exciting matchups possible. What the fuck is there to wonder about? It's like wondering if Merab is going to outwork his opponent.
If the same Jon shows up to fight AP that fought Stipe Miocic? That's a 50/50 fight any day.
I want to see Alex test Jon's chin, the guy obviously has concrete hands when he's on point. Jon would and should be the favourite, but he blew his wad in the first round trying to put a cripple away without success and visibly slowed the second round onwards. He didn't like getting tagged by a real HW and le'ts not forget he's blessed with those skinny little getaway sticks. Jon keeps a wide stance, but Alex likes his calf kicks. If Jon thinks AP's the same cakewalk Stipe is, that's just asking for trouble.
It's an intriguing fight, but AP's a far easier opponent than Tom was for Jon, and everyone knows that.
Temu-Makhachev just put things into perspective for Ilia real fast. I don't think ANYONE should be talking about Topuria fighting Islam until he can prove he can at least get by Arman first. I hate fighters who talk about fighting specific guys at the weightclass above them while ignoring the existence of the rest of that division... and everyone pretending Ilia belongs at 170lbs is a certfied idiot.
