I agree aliens is better but just because they each have 1 or 2 stand out films doesn’t mean they don’t have a pretty deep resume.

I'm not voting by what I want to watch, I'm voting on the best actress by strength of resume and number of outstanding performances. I love Alien, I love Silence of the Lambs. Foster did inspire a would be presidential assassin, and Weaver lays waste to almost all tough girl boss actresses. But I think Streep is the best actress

I would argue weaver having more movies I’ve enjoyed watching where she was the star/costar and not a supporting actress. I’d put Jamie Lee right here too. Bates isn’t far behind. Streep is talented for sure but she has done few roles I really enjoyed, which is obviously subjective. Also weaver doing aliens on snl is phenomenal

Weaver has movies with high rewatch potential. The only Streep movies with high rewatch I can come up of the top of my head is death becomes her and I like the remake of Manchurian candidate. Being the final final I expect a good race

Who is eager to watch Come and See or Stalingrad immediately after the first viewing? Irreversible? Breaking the Waves or Dancer in the Dark? A movie like Sophie's Choice is one of the best examples you could give for this type of viewing. It's harrowing.

Adam's Sandler's early comedies are timeless, but hands down his best performance, and the best movie he ever made was Uncut Gems. I don't want to watch that movie again.

crossed wire on my end, I voted Streep, ironweed. Deer hunter, river wild, adaption, I mentioned before that a dingo ate her baby. In my estimation she plays nasty, hurt, prideful, nice, etc, effortlessly and she didn't ever cost on looks because I don't think she had them.

She lacks a stand out performance to me that Weaver and Foster both have though. I never went out of my way to watch a streep movie but she lends an authenticity with her performances. I personally prefer female actresses of the Hitchcock movie era and variety, or Jennifer Connelly looks
