Can't find a thread. Two absolute bangers to start the morning.

I know they are two really old guys. But I really want to see the goat Garcia x Imanari grappling.
Good to see the guy coming back from cancer and making some real money, the guy is a fucking legend

the guy was done after round 1.. gutting it out for the next kicks wasnt his best idea

man.. how many times do they gotta bring out imanari to get his ass beat?

What a great card full of finishes and great fights

Tawanchai def Superbon by TKO rd 2
Nabil Anane won in a minute
Andrade won by body shot in a minute
Marcelo Garcia won
Saeksan vs Oo was a war

Has ONE ever turned a profit? I'd be surprised if the answer was yes, but they have carved out a niche in MMA for sure. First we see two pre-prelims.

I hope Freddie Haggerty has a better chin than his brother. He needs to work on the beard, I know that. And his technique. Jhordan Estupinan outstrikes him for three rounds. Freddie lacks power in his punches. He finally lands some good hits to the body but too little, too late.

Thant Zin actually has a jawline, an unusual sight in ONE. He tortures the legs of Suryanlek with kicks and should have just finished the fight with those; instead he goes headhunting and gets caught with three flash knockdowns for a TKO loss. Just poor fight IQ on Zin's part.

Now for the real prelims!

Japan's Masaaki Noiri comes out with nasty hatchet-like kicks that take the legs out from under his long, tall Iraqi opponent--literally, as the guy's shin is broken by the second round! He falls down and taps. Noiri looked like a killer in that fight.

Two old guys referred to as legends face off in submission grappling. The Brazilian one taps the Japanese one with a north-south choke in about five minutes. Watching martial arts without striking is like eating a low-fat Twinkie.

Next is Switzerland vs Kazakhstan in MMA. Maurice Abevi busts Samat Mamedov's nose and then goes to ground and pound, where Mamedov taps from the strikes. Main card is next.

Colombia's Johan Estupinan, who looks a lot like his brother Jhordan, faces the American 18-year-old hotshot Johan Ghazali. Estupinan's superior range and timing are about to win him the first round, but the referee calls a "knockdown" by Ghazali that really looks more like a stumble. Estu returns the favor with a real knockdown in the second. In the third he continues the striking lesson and opens a cut above Ghazali's eye. No finish but's it's easily Estu's fight, and the judges agree.

Muay Thai is next, featuring Sinsamut Klinmee who makes quick work of his larger opponent, Nauzet Trujillo. Three definitive knockdowns in round one and that's all she wrote. He gets the first bonus of the night.

Next, kickboxer Bampara Kouyate embarrasses Jo Nattawut in much the same way. Jo looked totally befuddled by his opponent's reach advantage. Didn't he prepare for this at all? Small wonder he's lost 7 of his last 9.

Had to get some sleep before I watched the rest of the event. Man these cards are long.

Seksan "The Beach" Kwanmuong has an excellent Muay Thai war with Soe Lin Oo. He lands most of the harder punches and elbows in round one. Soe starts matching his firepower in round two, and looks a little stronger in the clinch. Third round is also dead even. No real technique shown here, just two guys whaling on each other. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The judges give it to Seksan.

Few fighters can deal with the tall, long-limbed Nabil Anane. This time he tees off on Scotsman Nico Carillo, who just kind of stands there in his range with no idea how to get inside. (This is definitely the theme of the night.) A guy as skinny as Anane shouldn't be able to hit that hard, but clearly he does as Nico falls victim to three knockdowns and a loss. A well deserved bonus follows. Nabil Anane is the interim Bantamweight Muay Thai champ, and a shot at Superlek at ONE 172 is next.

Fabricio Andrade is a guy I've never liked or been impressed by. All I've seen him do was kind of, sort of, but not really beat John Lineker (who missed weight for their first clash and cost himself with terrible fight IQ in the second). Here he defends his title via knockout against Kwon Won-Il who... he already defended his title against, via knockout, in 2022. That division must be a graveyard.

Our main event: Tawanchai vs Superbon II for featherweight Muay Thai gold. Superbon was already handed the featherweight Kickboxing title when Chingiz Allazov got bored and vacated the belt. That doesn't really count as an accomplishment though, so understandably he wants Tawanchai's gold as well. Doesn't happen, as Tawanchai TKO's him in round two without really breaking a sweat.

And there's your event. Overall, pretty decent.
