He will do one of two things.

A: Say that they had an electoral vote and they choose to go with Russia. Obviously, the next press question would be, so did North Korea so Mr. President do you promote North Korea democracy?

or, and more than likely

B: Act tuff and tell Russia that they will not stand for these atrocities in 2014 and that they will impose strict and tuff sanctions on them. This will backfire on him though.

Putin has been cheerleading for years for Ukraine to get out of Western banks and to instead invest back into Mother Russia, if/when America imposes sanctions on them Putin will say I told you so and they will follow him to prosperity. They are a huge energy source for Europe and have some of the largest natural gas shales so they're sitting on a gold mine to give energy/heat all across the Eastern front and by dumping the dollar and jumping into another currency they will continue to prosper.

either way, this is a win for Russia and a loss for America.

How is it a loss for America? Obama will say they dont recognize the vote as they were done under threatening circumstances and the west is united in condemning Russias action. He will say there will be financial consequences for their actions and hope Russia reconsider their actions and thats it.

It's a loss for America because the gap that we have above the Russians will soon shorten. The Russians are strategizing themselves for future prosperity, gaining ground on America while we're stagnant.

MARK MY WORDS

Russia will make a sweet deal with Ukraine, probably giving them cheap oil and gas.

Russia will boost their economy and outsource their huge amounts of Natural Gas and Oil. They dont have the EPA to worry about so they will boost their economy almost overnight. Watch the next 5 years, Russia will be wealthy because other nations will flock to them for their cheap and abundant energy.

.

What I expect Obama to say:

"Putin = Hitler. Hitler Putin hates gays and probably wants to eat your children. Hitler Putin taking Crimea is the same as Hitler Hitler taking Sudetenland. Be afraid. Be very afraid"

I expect plenty of fear mongering and no substance.

The Russians are already laughing at him, which shows how many fucks they give.

Obama will "condemn Russia in the strongest possible terms"

oooooohhhh :icon_neut

So 97 percent of the Crimea wants to join Russia, yet the US and Europe will NEVER recognize the legitimacy of the vote?

In before the loonies try and claim it's because of the presence of Russian troops.

Hopefully someone will counter Obama by reading off a list of all the countries that America has penetrated anally, then tell him he's in no position to condemn anyone.

What happened to the War Room? Half the posting population seems to be moronic CTers now.

Given the Tartars and Ukranian Crimeans basically didn't vote, yeah, the Russian troops are a big part of it. That and the blocking of any media that isn't Russian propaganda. Might as well include that the "referendum" didn't have an option to stay as they were. There was no talk of Crimea rejoining Russia until Putin had the Crimean government overthrown and replaced with cronies, and "pro-Russian" troops kept Ukranians under siege. Naturally the troops weren't Russian soldiers, and were clearly lying when they openly admitted they were.

There is that, yes. :D

Putin's played his hand well. He might be a power-crazed wannabe dictator, but he's no fool. He knows what he can get away with, just like Georgia a few years ago.

Hmm, sounds like Putin and thr rest of Russia took a page out of Americas book. We've been doing that for decades with the military industrial complex.

Because that 97% number is made up. It's complete bs. How do I know? Because it is so mathmatically unlikely that it is impossible to believe. The "official results" say something like 95% yes vote on 90% turnout.

Russians account for 58% of Crimeans. Let's say for the sake of argument that they voted to join Russia and 100% of Russians voted. That gets you to about 60ish%. So where did the other 37% come from? The options are the Tartars or the Ukrainians. The Tartars make up 11-15% of the population. They have announced they boycotted the election. But even if some of them did vote, it seems unlikely they would vote for the people who committed genocide against them. So that leaves the Ukrainians in Crimea. It seems more than a little unlikely that Ukrainians unanimously voted to leave Ukraine and join Russia, and even if they did they still would get to 97% without almost all the Tartars voting to go back to Russia as well.

It's bullshit, and they didn't even try to make it seem legit. You'd have to be a complete fool to believe that all the Tartars and Ukrainians voted to rejoin Russia.

Oh, so since it's "mathmatically unlikely" you KNOW it's made up.

LOL. This guy

Oh good, Big D the puppet showed up. How's it feel with Putin's hand up your butt?

Sure it is possible. But the chances of winning the lottery exceed the chance that 97% percent of a population chose to leave Ukraine and join Russia where only 58% are Russian, 11% are survivors of Russian genocide, and the rest are Ukrainians. You see that don't you? You can at least admit that the election is complete sham, right? Or is Putin's hand too far up your colon?

Really? Because last nights results beg to differ. And no, the election wasn't a sham.

Looking kind of desperate here, ncordless. Why can't you just respect the will of the people?

What's the over/under until Russia is hit with another "suicide bombing" by a Muslim separatist? *wink-wink*
