O’Malley has been focusing on wrestling this camp. Can a fighter learn enough in that period of time?

O’Malley’s a striker through and through. If he’s going to win, I don’t think it’s going to come down to outgrappling Merab.

It’s a bizarre choice.

Maybe he’s just improving his grappling defense but I don’t see Suga winning this with rear naked choke. Shrug

He needed to go to Dagestan and really train 2 or 3 a day with Khabib's kids. I know they're talking all about training this and that, but nothing changes.

And I like Sean as fighter. He's just not ready for the Machine. Maybe Umar after his hand heals up. Who knows?

He is relying on his striking ability to already be successful, and decided to focus on stopping the grappling. Smart choice, hoping to help dictate where the fight takes place is never a bad idea

Merab's wrestling isn't that great, he just shoots over and over but get stuffed on most of them and doesn't get top position for very long even on the ones that work, so O'Malley just working on scrambles or punishing failed TD attempts would definitely be helpful. It's not like all he's doing in camp is wrestling, I'm sure he's keeping everything else sharp too, but spending a little more time on wrestling would help his defense and help him find openings to punish failed TD attempts.

You are dense if you think O’Mally is going to attempt offensive grappling. Obviously, his coach and him are preparing to be more conditioned for grappling in general.

Merab wins not just by out-wrestling people, but out-cardioing them. Even though Umar defended a lot of his TDs and didn't spend much time on his back, he eventually lost because Merab out paced him.

O'Malley has 5 rounds of striking cardio and can scramble well. But it's difficult to get your offense going when someone is relentlessly spamming takedowns for 25 minutes.

Sandhagen did great training for Umar in that fight, he didn’t get the win, but he really showed off his training from that camp.

Oh well, it seems that Merab was the one who actually evolved like crazy
