I have pretty shallow-set eyes and not much of a eyebrow ridge. I hurt my eyeballs with pressure while wrestling with some of my friends. I usually either receive a soft direct blow to the eye or from the side and it catches the eye.
Lemme explain.
Here are some IMO ideal fighting facial features:
Take a good look at how deep-set Jeremy Stephens' eyes are and how much cover his ridge gives him. From any given angle, especially head-on, his nose, brow ridge, and cheeks are likely to bear the brunt of the attack.
Here is another great face:
McGregor can probably wear a ski cap or beanie over his eyes without the fabric touching his eyeballs.
This is what my eye depth sort of looks like:
I think it's quite dangerous and not worth it even considering the small chance someone like me could face from a direct blow.
Discuss.
