Forget NCAA violations.

If it is proven that students were given grades for work they did not do, and the university knew about it.....can UNC lose their accreditation?

lose it from who? Most accreditation comes from the state. Who in North Carolina wants to see UNC out of sports?

Accreditation comes from accreditation associations. For credits to count, the school must be accredited.

UNC is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Same commission that accredits Vandy and UVA.
