It's funny how this works but Mokaev is very smart, for as dangerous as Royval is, he's one of the easier matchups Mokaev could get inside the top 10 that could get him a title shot. Flyweight is such a shallow division it's really crazy. It's going to take 2-3 years minimum of the UFC continuing to sign top level prospects and talent, as they ascend and the low level fighters in the top 15 get weeded out, for it to be where it should be. Still no chance this fight happens.

Mokaev should be calling out Alex Perez, Dvorak, Matt Schnell these are all top 10 guys he should beat. Even if those fights don't formulate Sumadaerji is another matchup he should be able to win fairly comfortably. Tim Elliot might be a bit tougher of an out but maybe one worth calling for. Glad to see Mokaev is going to be healthy and well by October too, he struggled way too much vs a debutant in Filho.

Mokaev still needs seasoning before he fights anyone in the top 5. Strong wrestling and grappling base but he looks rough standing. He's also been caught in a couple deep submissions the kneebar and he was lowkey saved by the bell against Gordon so he's not some unstoppable force on the mat. I'd like to see him in there against Hadley, Nascimento, or Elliot next

Nowhere near as dangerous as Royval though, if Filho's getting that close to tapping Mokaev then Royval would absolutely finish him.

Mokaev needs to cool the jets, no reason for him to rush gicen how young and flawed he is.

Also needs to fight Hadley or at the very least Allan Nascimento.

I would love to see the Nascimento fight but the UFC won't make that. Nascimento already beat one dude they were trying to hype they won't let it happen again. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice yadda yadda yadda

IMO Mokaev Royval is a fair match and a lot of 125lb is a crapshoot since the UFC quotas how many small guys they take from Russia, Brazil and other places they devalue.

He shouldnt even be ranked. Him getting ranked is off pure hype and popularity one of the worst examples in recent memory. He hasnt beaten anyone to warrant a ranking.

Fighters like Hadley and Taira have looked better when theyve fought against similar level competition in UFC. Hadley has a loss to Nascimento but Nascimento has actually proven to be ranked level unlike the other 3 considering how evenly he fought Ulanbekov a ranked flyweight and Paiva a formerly ranked fighter.
