I got a question who uses muay thai shorts for mma here? Which do you find better to use muay thai shorts or grappling boardshorts(full contact fighter brand)?

well Thai shorts aren't for ground fighting. they're designed for stand-up and i'm not too sure if the material (satin, nylon, etc.) would hold strong if you were on the ground. also, thai shorts, depending on the size and whatnot, may not stay on you the way you'd like with MMA grappling shorts, they're designed to stay on you no matter what.

i have a few times---cant say i notice a difference to the sprawl v-flex

You're joking, right?

wait........ lol no way am I comparing thai shorts to sprawls

haha what i meant was---I have grappled with my thai shorts on and not had any problems with moving my legs and the waist support on thai shorts are very good...

but that said no way would they last because they are made of satin/nylon --they would get destroyes

for mma use grappling shorts with a lycra crotch/ flex panels and splilt seems

i.e sprawl or clinch gear

a close friend of mine fought in thai shorts last time, and whilst they may not stand up to the rigors of day in day out grappling, if you are wearing a fairly new pair then for the actual fight they are no different.

Ross Mason also always wears thai shorts when he fights as does Jason Tan and most of Team Kaobon if not all I believe.

Ppl will have you believe that board shorts are better, but thats due to you average grapplers being more likely to have a background in surfing than striking imo!!!
