Muay Thai or MMA shorts for kickboxing?

I can't decide which ones to take. I prefer MMA shorts because of the looks + i don't like short shorts. Are MMA shorts ok for kickboxing or muay thai shorts are better suited for it?

Mma shorts are ok, I use them because muay thai shorts make me look fat.

It's all personal preference honestly. I wear MT trunks to boxing a lot and also have a few pairs of reg boxing trunks, but I also wear Vale Tudo shorts to Muay Thai and occasionally boxing lol, it's just what you prefer.. I get shit from people for wearing VT shorts but they're comfortable and that's all I care about lol

for me thai shorts are too short but i really like the boxeur des rues ones (used by RVR).
i've never had problems for headkicks with hayabusa or venum because they are elastic.
last thing, if you buy thai shorts remember to shave your legs...

K-1 shorts by some Thai brands (King, Top King) are a bit better tham MT shorts imo (for big guys), but quite longer. Hate MT shorts, used to own 2 pairs of Twins, I am not that big (6 feet, 180lb) and waist was 100% fine but I have quite muscular legs and I was unable to do any high kick in them, the cut was weird.

I prefer MMA shorts. Nothing against Thai shorts as I have a few.

Plus I can wear my MMA shorts when I go to the gym or go out running. I wouldn't feel to comfortable doing that with Thai shorts.

Amazing, I'm 6'1", 185 lb with frog legs and the Twins XLs fit like a dream on me. I'll only resort to my Top King K-1 shorts when it's colder day (or I'm behind on laundry) haha.

I hate those K1 shorts. I also dont like it when guys show up at my MT gym wearing MMA shorts to the MT classes. If the shorts make you look fat, you probably need to eat less and run more.

This is going to be long-winded but bear with me. Thai shorts are a zillion times better and more functional than everything else, especially that long shit 99% of you self conscious boobs rock. Learn to give less fucks about what you look like. I wear the shortest shorts in the class and its a point of pride for me. The only one who comes close is the instructor and he cheats by rolling his up just so he can be more like me.

Here we go...

-They're short and never catch leg hair(big deal for werewolves like me)

-They have elastic bands so they're WAY more comfortable and flexible in terms of sizing. If you drop any real weight for a fight, good luck keeping those awful board shorts on your ass. Or on the other end if you injure yourself or get lazy and take a few months off, good luck getting your gut in that rigid, unforgiving waist band. Not to mention when you order shit offline you don't have to be anywhere near as precise with your sizing because they stretch so much.

-Unique designs. Every other insecure man-child at your gym will be wearing those cheese-dick board shorts with a "tOtally b@da$$" skull design on the leg = YAWN

Embrace the fucking gold bedazzled cartoon dragon shooting emerald coins out of his nose for absolutely no reason. Add a Thai word stitched across your junk and dare to stand out.
