Most skilled fighters ever ?

Yan is very skilled but very inconsistent as well. No chance I rank him with BJ or Aldo or any of those guys listed. Winning the belt isnt enough...defend it for a while and we can talk again.

Fedor and Islam come to mind if we're talking about "good everywhere". Volk deserves a mention even he lacks notable submission wins.

PED CHAMP........HEAVYWEIGHT P E D CHAMP OF THE WORLS
your nickname says fedor

a russian who fought in a steroid org

funny thing he started losing when theres drug testing

coincidence?
maybe drug testing is fedors weakness lmfao

theres no way a 37 year old jones would lose to hendo
but fedor did 🤡

he would beat hendo because hes skilled
not some kind of a brawler

Overall GSP no question IMO, he could out-wrestle the wrestlers and out-strike the strikers, great BJJ with both submission threat and defense, superior strength and conditioning as well as elite strategy and vision ... no weaknesses in any area, from the technical to the physical and mental, in fact top-tier in every facet of the game.

No-one else has shown that level of complete skills-set IMO.

Others who are up there in completeness are Islam, Volk, Aldo, DJ, Fedor from the old days, etc.

JJ and prime BJ might be the most naturally talented at fighting, but not necessarily the most skilled and well rounded.

jon jones (good everywhere)
poatan (decent tdd, best striker)
jiri (no technique, but somehow wins. that's the definition of skill)
khamzat (decent striking, best wrestler)
shavkat (good everywhere)
makhachev (good everywhere)

-------

silva = no wrestling. so many losses. lost to jake paul.
khabib = no striking. scared of losing so retired early to preserve 29-0 record. no double belt.
dj = lost to cejudo. failed in his attempt win a 2nd weight division belt
gsp = lay n pray. finish rate = 50%
fedor = small heavyweight with many losses. fought cans, lost to a bellator can.

It's DJ and will probably remain so for a while. Great striking, quick footwork, could wrestle at any time, creative submissions with the cardio to do it all five rounds. Even GSP was more limited in comparison and he is the GOAT.

Jones is weaker with his boxing by comparison but he overcomes it with excellent spatial awareness and IQ when to use his other tools. The other versatile fighters just have rounded out their game so they don't have a obvious weakness. With DJ, he could use any tactic to dominate a fight. He could out strike a striker, outwrestle a wrestler, submit a BJJ artist, use his IQ to outsmart a crafty opponent and outwork a physical specimen.
