Manhoef, Romero, and Randleman. Who am I missing, who deserves to be mentioned among these athletes? I often wonder if Romero or Manhoef were born in the US if they would've played football and made a lot more money (then again Romero wouldn't get his genetic communist lab DNA from Cooba). Randleman I know was a beast on the field in HS but was one of the best wrestlers in the world so I understand why he went that way, I still think he would have made a monster in the NFL. Anybody got that gif of Randleman doing like a 40 in standing vert to warm up in the octagon?

Why would Manhoef go NFL?
Guy is 173 cm at most and as far as I know you are not allowed to punch someone in the mouth or kick the shit out of their legs.
It is not like Manhoef was a great grappler at all.

Aldo was pretty explosive, especially in his ealier career, his TDD speaks for itself.
If we talk purely MMA, you have to mention Ngannou guy just had insane explosive power even for an HW.
Rumble was pretty explosive too.

aldo and rumble almost got a mention but aldo is tiny and rumble seems alot less fluid than either of the 3 mentioned.

people alot shorter than Manhoef have dominated in the NFL, he would play in it because he was one of the most explosive athletes in the world in his prime, could juice to the gills and get paid what 100x more? Romero for all the reasons mentioned above but he did it until he was 40 thats Tom Brady shit and according to Joe Rogan has magical healing properties, he would be one of the highest payed players in the league aswell

What would Manhoef do? I don't give a shit about american eggball so I would assume running back or the one who runs to receive the ball.
Manhoef is not that much taller than Aldo and was juiced to the gills, if you didn't know that I would accuse you of not following much of Manhoefs career. Manhoef probably would not go NFL the same reason other people from Europe probably wouldn't go NFL, they didn't play Football while in Europe, Manhoef in the home of Ajax Amsterdam but he choose Kickboxing cause it made more sense for him. Manhoef also played football before he decided to go for Kickboxing, so if anything he might play Eggball in highschool but would then turn to Boxing or MMA in USA similarly how he did in the netherlands.

This reply doesn't answer any of my questions though. He could arguably play any position in the backfield on defense up to college and exactly what you said, a running back in the NFL MAYBE if he had good ball skills though in his athletic prime the running back would carry the football more and it wouldn't matter as much, we'll never know because the basis of the question is "if they were born in America", I know he didn't play American football because he was born in Suriname and grew up in the Neatherlands. Saying he didn't play Euro Football doesn't really apply here because he's a jacked freak and every professional soccer player I see is taller and more nimble, because there is little to no contact and it is an endurance sport. Also obviously I know he was juicing, I was making the point he could also juice in pro football and probably get better gear

Manhoef is the guy that came to mind for me.

Romero, Jose Aldo, Demetrius Johnson makes other FLW/BW look like they move in slow motion.

Yeah the part about football is not true at all, Defensive players and target man Strikers can often be pretty strong or rather they need to be explosive and bigger to win aerial duels if that is your teams gameplan.
But to your question if they were born in America, I just basically made a comparison that Manhoef was playing football and prefered to play that over fighting until he fell in love with fighting. Another example would be Saki who is one of the best Kickboxers in the world who also played football before fighting, Footballers definitely would be better suited for striking since they kick mostly in their sport, which translates better into kicking a person than the way eggballers punt their egg. The contact in Eggball is also very different in Football than it is in Kickboxing and MMA, it is more akin to grappling or rather a power doubleleg or clinch than striking. So I think Manhoef probably would not have went the NFL route even if he was american, Romero maybe but I think Romero probably would have just been an american wrestler tbh.

The top 20 fastest 100m runners were born in Jamaica, USA, Kenya and Trinidad and Tobago, so I would look at guys from those places.

100+ points at peak on FightMatrix:

Jamaica:

  1. Leon Edwards - 3018 - WW
  2. Uriah Hall - 635 - MW
  3. Jason Jackson - 578 - WW
  4. Fabian Edwards - 406 - MW
  5. Eddie Gordon - 137 - MW
USA:
Too many to mention.

Kenya:
None.

Trinidad and Tobago:
  1. Gary Goodridge - 139 - HW
