Hey grapplers, need some help. I tried going on Google but couldn't find any schools that have morning classes for BJJ in Vancouver, BC. I notice the earliest class at any school is 12pm. I was hoping to find a school that might have earlier classes.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a pic to show my thanks

Btw, I live in Richmond, so Vancouver or Richmond would be ideal. But wouldn't oppose to another gym in another city.

I'm not positive but I think Gracie Barra has morning class.

I found one thats 11AM to 12PM at Westcoast BJJ in Burnaby. Does anybody train there? I notice it's a hour class. Anybody who trains there I got couple of questions:

1.) What are the warms up like? I have a problem with forward/backward rolls, I tend to puke after

2.) Does that one hour include warm ups, technique and rolling?

I train at Westcoast, haven't been to Burnaby yet cuz I live in Poco but the class will entail a 20 minute warm up, 20 minutes of drilling/technique and then 20 minutes of rolling for submission.

The warm up is 20 minutes of rolling fairly easily with no submissions.

I actually think I'm gonna go out there today for the first time ever and check it out.

Cool, if you do go, can you tell me how the class? I think I might check out the gym pretty soon.

It's a good class, the instructor is a one stripe purple belt named Reggie he's an awesome guy.

It's pretty casual nobody's gonna try to kill you, I don't know what your rank is, but it's mostly white belts there, everyone's nice.

Theres more blue/purple/brown belts at our Poco, Maple Ridge and Abbotsford clubs, but those locations are probably too far from you.

I don't know where else you train, but I also go to a wrestling club in Richmond on Viscount Way or something like that cant remember. The instructor is a ridiculously good wrestler, you should check that out too. It's called Dungeon Grappling.

Thanks, apperciate the feed back, so I'm guessing its the same format like the other schools you go to for West Coast?

Ya generally the format is all the same. It usually always works out to 1/3 warm up 1/3 drilling/technique and 1/3 sparring.

BJJ and No Gi classes are always the same.

MMA classes most of the time have a different/ more difficult warmup but everything else is the same.

Kickboxing kind of goes by a completely different format.

Reggie McGinty? Crazy looking native fellow? lol he's a good guy, we're from the same town and he comes back to train at our MMA club every few months.

Whitehorse, Yukon...it's about a 2 hour flight from Van and about 25,000 people. I'm not there anymore but I'm heading back for the summer and I'm sure I'll be training with Reg at some point. Most people would be surprised at the quality of our club, my muay thai coach is in Vegas training right now so I'm excited to get back and learn some crazy new tricks from him.
