I was watching Real Time on HBO and it's very apparent that Neil Degrasse Tyson really hates Elon Musk. He was shitting on Elon's obsession with going to Mars. I didn't knoe he hated Elon.

Which of the two are more important or consequential to humanity

There are lots of brilliant astrophysicists. Elon is unique and advancing engineering beyond what Neil advances astrophysics imo while impacting humanity greatly.

One thing I do respect is Elons ambition. He is not afraid to take risks with his money, unlike most billionaires who sit on their cash like scrooge mcduck.

I don't agree with Mars however. I believe we can still do plenty here on Earth, but again, I understand his drive to get there. It's a legacy thing and he knows that if he pulls it off, he would be known as one of the greatest people in human history.
