Hey guys i need help form anyone that may know if there are any mma gyms located in Ramstein Germany. I am a military guy moving to that place in about a months time.
Any help is welcome..
and if you have to be a smart ass at least make it funny.

one of my purple belt homies trains on base out there.

anthony benevente

While we're at it, what about near Hohenfels? I'm going there next week, I heard the gym they have on post has a really nice wrestling team and huge wrestling area, but what about jiu jitsu?

idk i can only speak for ramstein ab cuz my homie is there

do you know what days, times, and where they train? I'd like to train BJJ mainly.

There is nothing close to Ramstein.
Your best bet would be to train with other GIs.
IIrc there is something in Nuernberg which is close to Hohenfells. Nuernberg is 75km next to Hohenfells which is like 1 hour drive.

I doubt anybody wants to drive 2 hours to train for 1 or 2 hours and drive back 2 hours.

Depends on how much he wants to train and who he wants to train with.

I am not familiar with Germany or it's cities but I do know Daniel and he is a good guy. That said I recomend his academy.

Gas in Germany is pretty expensive. Frankfurt should have an Alliance gym, -= Alliance BJJ =-, but I have no clue how far away it is form the base.
Saarbruecken might have a bjj place as well.
I would concentrate on striking while in Europe. Their kickboxing stuff is really good.
Good luck.

Since Rhein-Main is closed there is nothing close to Frankfurt.
Ramstein is pretty far away from everything. The closest bigger city is Kaiserslautern and I know a guy whos studying there right now and nothing is there. Not a decent Thai or western boxing gym and no grappling schools.

its been awhile since i checked this. but i did try out the alliance bjj.went there for one day to see how the drive is to and from frankfurt. It was ok on a saturday but for their weekday practices i can see it being a pain in the ass. The instructor was is a cool guy and was very helpful, especially with me being a new guy into the disicpline. Ramstein has a group of guys that train themselves 3 times a week but I haven't gone to that yet. I am currently deployed but rolling over here with military people training other military people.
thanks for everyones help.

Hi
I am from the Ramstein area. I also looking for a place or people to train with.
If there are some military guys training on base, i would be very interestet to join the training.

I've been here a year and I've done the Frankfurt drive. I've also searched for this other BJJ group that's in the area but I can't find anyone that knows anything about them or that has seen them. So, I'm starting a new group, first session this Tuesday, 22 September at 6:30 PM. We have a solid brown belt coming out, a blue belt (me) and a few others (unknown experience) and so it should be a slow crawl at first to get this thing running but I'm determined. Free of course as long as you can get on base and use military facilities. Here's the website:

Down the line I'm going to try to affiliate with the Alliance school in Frankfurt and have them come down for seminars, etc. I need you all though to come out and support if we're gonna make this happen.
