Mir vs. Werdum scheduled

Mmmm ya know, i dont mind this gfl thing

Hope they get big....cause i like these marque name legend fights even if they are all past their prime. These fighters names are still in peoples minds and deserve a platform
I admit. I wasn't too sold on the product initially. The bad AI intro with all my MMA heroes in the weird futuristic armors and random animals really endeared me to the GFL for some reason. Hearing the fighters speak positively about the organization really makes me want to see it succeed.

Only fucking mouthbreathers would want these orgs to fail. We need more competition for the UFC, not less. We've seen American MMA with just UFC and PFL as the majors. It sucks. If the fighters can pass medicals and the drug testing is minimal, then why not?

great, i still want to see werdum vs mir (or vwerdum vs barnett/ kongo/ rothwell)

but werdum vs jds 2 was boring, no takedows, no submisions atemps, no clear punches landed, and the fight is poorly recorded, poor angles and distances from the camera

Oh man, thats dope!! Bad matchup for Frank but he still has the KO power.

Mir is 45-years-old, he's still younger than his counterpart. Fabricio Werdum will turn 48-years-old later this year.

Frank should be on the mic and not in the cage. He didn't look good 7 years ago. Werdum, hasn't looked good either but at least he looked like he had an ounce left in the gas tank against JDS.
Agreed 100%

Mir's Bellator run was pretty bad, even with the lukewarm decision win over Hoy Nelson. I doubt he's improved much since 2019. He's just been pumping himself with HGH recently.

Werdum arguably beat Renan Fereira in the PFL by submission through Brazilian tap. Went the distance with JDS and went out on a win in the UFC. Not too bad all things considered.

Didn't look great when they put him in there against an elite boxer a few years back either, got turned into a Mortal Kombat "finish him" guy.

This article says Werdum is struggling with CTE and couldn't get medically cleared by PFL.

There might be a few of these guys that have hard time clearing medicals.

Jesus Christ I forgot about this. Why any fighter would admit to having CTE while wanting to stay active is completely beyond me.

Don't his neck break here. Might explain his head shape now. Damn these guys are uncareful. Mir fighting ranked boxers. Delusional as fuck.

TBH I'm kinda hoping for a grappling match more than anything. Have no desire to see either of these guys eating punches. But them grappling would be very interesting.
