Possibly the most underrated modern day game series imo. The series deserves way more recognition than it gets but I think they definitely have a weakness in advertising.

I honestly think Exodus is going to be my GOTY aside from any potential Sony published exclusives that release later in the year. I'm digging RDR2 but fact is I bought it on launch day and I'm only halfway through. It's very slow to the point where it feels like a chore to play for more than a couple of hours.

I've also been replaying the first two games and I have to say, I initially thought Last Light was better than the original in every way but now that I have played them in reverse, I actually think Metro 2033 has a much better story and better levels. The first half of Last Light was amazing, but I thought the second half was rather drawn out and less engaging.

I'm finding that Metro 2033 is the opposite. The game world actually gets better as the game goes on.

And just for fun, here are some of my best screenshots... The lighting and particle effects are still soo good.

Great games but 4A/Deep Silver can fuck off with the PC version Epic Store exclusivity. $5 sale at best and by then I probably won't even care.

I had reserved feelings about the whole situation until the Dev came out and basically said that anyone upset by their move to go with an Epic store only release wasn't really a fan of their games. As someone who has purchased 6 different copies of their games for myself and others because I thought it was a great first person story game this upsets me quite a bit. On top of that he basically said "keep it up and we won't even release any more games on PC." Offensive and threatening. Disappointing to me because I really was looking forward to this but it's definitely put a huge damper on my desire to play it now.

Yeah I'm a bit tired of running an extra launcher or 3 for just a handful of games. I've got less free time than ever too, so I'll just wait for it to finally make its way over to Steam at a discount.

Yeah, I saw that. They were quick to come out and say that's just one person's opinion and not the studio's official word . I'm not a fan of anti-consumer moves like what Epic has been doing and I've got more games than I'll ever finish. So, for studios and publishers taking that stance, good luck. Same goes for The Division 2.

I never read those comments but in all fairness the Metro games are AAA quality not indie quality and probably very expensive to make, without the revenue generating ability of an annual release franchise like Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed and Battlefield. The dev has to make tough business decisions in order to profit or they won’t stay viable and they won’t be able to make the games anymore at all.

Exclusivity practices on console led to most of their issues today. So its a bit weird that Epic Games with ForniteBR was the first game to force cross-platform multiplayer between console makers and then demand exclusivity with their Pc storefront. THeir approach doesnt make sense.

Pc players dont like these console practices.

Love the first two games, two of the best single player FPS I've ever played. I don't want to get that Epic thing just yet so I'm planning on getting this in a year.

I agree. I found 2033 had a much creepier environment and better story, while Last Light felt more formulaic and boring by comparison. 2033 was a better survival horror game and more memorable for me.

That said, I only played Redux and not the original, which apparently was in an older game engine with clunkier mechanics and older graphics.

I didn't know about the dev's comments. It probably won't change my purchasing decision but that's a really dumb thing to say publicly. Getting a bigger cut of lower sales volume is not going to work in their favour. These publishers going with Epic don't seem to realize the risk they're taking.

The series is one of my favorites. Crank up the volume on your headphones and only play when it's dark outside.

I played the original one and it was clunky as hell in some areas. So, not sure how the remake works.

this game really filled the void for stalker, but it appears thats not gonna happen tell fucking 2020

If you want Chinese spyware on your PC install epic launcher.. look up tencent

Fuck that .. I ain't getting it, also fuck 4agames for threatening the games community.

did they finally fix the weak, airsoft-like gun sounds?
