I read a rumor on another site that it might be GSP v. Askren. As a big fan of the metamoris concept, I think this would be fantastic. I don't believe it for a second, but was curious as to if anyone has read anything similar elsewhere.

No, it's not going to be a high profile match like that. If it was they wouldn't make it secret lol, they would use that match to promote the shit out of the event.

Last Metamoris the secret match was 2 guys I had never heard of, granted I'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to the grappling world.
 
As the first response said... If GSP vs Askren were happening, they would be using it to sell the card/ppv right now and not keeping it a secret...

That said, this is an amazing idea!!! Anyone know the Meta people? They need to be floated this :)
 
Thats kind of what I was thinking. But if they did keep it secret and it happened, their future PPVs would explode just because of the 'what if this events secret match is _______________ v ______________?!?!' But like I said, I didn't believe it, but it would be great if it happened...

Nah lol, that would be horrible marketing. Lets put on a huge show with two very expensive guys, not tell anybody about it, and hope it boosts our ratings in the future. Just no lol.

If you're into grappling I'm surprised, Golds in the brown division for featherweights 2 years running at Pan-Am's. Silver and Golds at featherweight black division 2 years running at world No Gi's. Bronze at 66kg at ADCC in 2011. Some ridiculous number of Grapplers quest championships. VERY distinctive style.

I'm really not into grappling, I mean I like it just have never gotten around to watching a lot of it or learning about a lot of the guys.

Have watched the majority of the metamoris events so far and enjoy them.
 
Fuck. Everyone knows Rogan is a black belt, he'd be amazing to see there actually competing.

If, on the extremely long shot he would actually do a Metamoris, would that be a secret match or one to promote the shit out of? Seems a little freakshowish to me to be a headliner, but fitting for a throw in like Glover
 
I'm still betting the secret match includes Barnett.

He had a big win at the last one and hasn't been seriously in the discussions for a UFC bout since then.
