Meltzer reports on Bellators gameplan moving forward

Well if the Abu-Dhabi boys paid 200mil for 10%, I guess maybe the UFC could currently be worth 2 billion.

But remember, something is only worth what another is willing to pay for it, once it's for sale. We'll see.

It was worth 2 billion 4 years ago. It's probably worth between 3-4 billion now.

Getting the Fox deal was huge, where the Fox deal is going and how it has worked out also matters. I don't think Fox has been majorly disappointed, really, but it hasn't grown the UFC or the fan base like I think was maybe expected either.

I think the UFC is probably worth a little less than it was not long after they broke the Fox deal. I know their TV revenues re really high, however. I'll admit to not knowing, but I don't see anybody (even very interested parties) paying that much for the UFC right now.

Lol, UFC wins the night almost every time it's on Fox. UFC regularly doubles to tripples FS1's average viewership. Believe me Fox is happy.

Revenue from fightpass replaces all their revenue earned from Spike. The additional TV revenue from just Fox and Globo is worth more than 5,000,000 PPV buys. Not to mention the other TV deals as well as additional revenue from all these extra events.

UFC would need like 300k subs a month to replace the Spike revenue, didnt Spike pay like 30-35 mill a year?

Or is that what they offered to pay UFC in the new contract and then UFC got 90-100 mill from Fox?

UFC gets roughly 100 mil a year from Fox. Fightpass has been a huge success for them. All reports have said they trippled their projected subscribers.

Yeah, best estimates are between 225 and 275K and that number probably grows every time they run a good show on Fight Pass, like next week's Japan show.

I think it's safe to say they're probably making more money now than at any point in their history, despite the declining PPV buyrates.

They seem to be going through a transition period. UFC is gaining more and more revenue streams outside PPV. I personally hope they can move away from it eventually.

You know what the funny thing is. If bellator at any point decided that they didn't want to be a second rate d-bag tna wannabe they could cut the ufcs company's value in half if not even take them over. I'm not sure what you all think is happening; but we are watching Coker screw another promotion dry and I'm not sure at this point if he's just some stupid fucking clown who knows people who believe his bullshit, or if he thinks he knows mma. But he doesn't. Not one fucking bit. I'm pissed at this guy

Taking over UFC will not happen.
Bellator & Spike realize that.
UFC would need to implode & they are far from that.
While interest in US is declining, they are still making insane money & branching into a more worldwide commodity
The ratings are low, but they make a guarantee of $100,000,000 a year from TV

Wont don't do it in one year, but if you have their backing it can happen given it's your goal. You have a damn television channel to grown men you promote to. Let's be honest about what spike sees and wants. That's entertainment and since they aren't bringing back TNA, well you see where I'm going with this

I want to ask this as well, what if in all honesty it had been Dana under that mask and he clowned them on national Tv.

What happens?

They are not even doing a PPV for another year. UFC does 5-6 million buys a year & are global.

It would take years of an implosion like we never saw for UFC to get low enough for Bellator to over take them

I just don't think fox is getting what they thought from the deal, ppv buys are for sure lower and the aura of ppv in general left with brick to be honest, I think people are actually going to tune away because of Dana eventually, and fighters are gonna book elsewhere when they see others doing that and I also see that coming very quick.

My reasons.

Brick ^ ha that dang autocorrect and I can't edit. You got me tho.

Fox is getting more than they qant out of that deal. Almost every time UFC is on Fox it wins the night in ratings. When UFC is on FS1 it minimum doubles FS1's prime time average, hell sometimes it tripples, quadruples, and quintuples it. People tune into FS1 specifically to watch the UFC. It's not a channel like Spike that 800,000 people are watching each night regardless of what it on. UFC is valuable because if Fox attempt to put anything else in that timeslot they lose viewers. Not to mention Fox gets worse ratings on FS1 with more expensive properties.

As far as PPVs being down, well duh. UFC lost it's two largest draws for the entire year and all but 2 of their champs have been injured at some point this year.

They sell in a year and a half to ONEfc and they replace them on spike. You watch.

Spike is trying to turn bellator into a legit/entertainment company and this is not wrestling shit.

Idc about when they do their shows, they won't have anything legit left to run them if they keep doing this nonsense. GUY RUNS company, doesn't know who masked man in his cage is...

And yes I made it about that.
You know what? It is not farfetched...I mean, after UFC the company with more exposure(through Spike and multideal around of the world) and best roster is Bellator, therefore wheter ONE FC would want to grow into western market, the best option is by buying Bellator....but another option would be UFC buys Bellator with idea to avoid ONE FC do it....You know, currently UFC has a lot of troubles with the asia markets and ONE FC is ahead a lot over there and wheter you add more exposure and best roster for ONE...it would be a nightmare for UFC and i guess they want to avoid

The fuck is all this selling shit coming from? The UFC is trying to grow UFC as a sport and expand into a worldwide brand. If they were trying to cash in they wouldn't be taking that approach. They are making a lot of money, they aren't selling.

And Viacom has shown nothing but support for Bellator. When the UFC got a bigger deal they were right on the hunt for a new promotion so they are committed to MMA.

And where in the fuck is this OneFC money coming from? Fitting to buy out Bellator...Owned by Viacom. Shit is laughable.

Stop talking about anyone selling. OneFC is still in its infancy, Bellator has Viacom who has shown nothing but support and the UFC is bigger then ever globally.

I know its fun to imagine but please don't think any of this is realistic.

in asia not...ONE FC in its "infancy" manages almost 90% of the market in asia and its CEO is friend of the CPC ...that gives them much more exposure on that place...and beleive me the Zuffa
