Max is pure class. If it wasn't weight cut related, I hope he's okay going forward. The UFC needs to start putting backup and contender fights on cards from now, imo.

Not sure if it was his official diagnosis or not; but hyponatremia is a totally treatable condition. Happens often with dehydration etc; if that was the diagnosis then he probably received IV fluids and electrolytes and is recovering now (from the hyponatremia) and will heal completely when replenished (less than a day). If it was something else (concussion related) then the timeline is much different for sure.

It’s crazy that being pulled from these last two fights actually made me more of a fan of this dude, pure class and he is game af.

If it was up to him he would have taken that fight with Khabib on 6 days notice, he is a fighter, a true fighter.

This is what happens when you pay fighters hundreds of thousands of dollars. They have less incentive to force the fight.

The second Floyd Mayweather became a PPV star, he started fighting only 1-2x per year. Sometimes he would take 2 years off.

When he came back, the pulled out of the Juan Manuel Marquez fight and came in overweight when they rescheduled it 6 months later.

This won't stop unless fighter pay is reduced to 15/15k or something more manageable where you can still control them.
