In one of his first interviews after the accident It was very difficult to hear him talk about how much he wanted to end his life, but couldn't because so many people looked up to him.

I'm sure his condition is still hard for him, but there is no doubt his strength is even more admired and inspiring now than ever.

I say thank God for trains, buses and trucks. I think the train did Matt and the world a favor. He was a raging a-hole before this. Getting hit by a train has knocked some sense into him and given him purpose. I say the train did a good thing.

I know after a career of training and working with neurodevelopmentally disabled people of all kinds that you can use someone's condition to maybe  explain actions, but never excuse them.

And it's not like that behavior post-accident is much of a far-shot from his behavior pre
