MATH FOLKS -- explain the flaw in this reasoning (Doomsday Hypothesis)

Having only 1 blammo doesn't tell you anything at all about the sample size. If you had 2 of them, serial number 112 and 112030 then you'd have a bit more to go on.

What if the number on the blammo was 1? Tells you nothing. If the number was 00001 then you could infer that there were 99999 blammos out there.
 
The flaw is the same flaw encountered in all abstract statistical probability scenarios, that being that the result is entirely subjective due to arbitrary initial assumptions. Basically the more shit you assume at the start, the more irrelevant your result.

I god damned hated the statistics courses I was required to take in college. Nothing but a bunch of useless number crunching based on whatever assumptions you decide to pull out of thin air, complete waste of time.
