Masvidal could definitely beat Leon

If Leon makes the mistake of standing in the pocket trading with Mas I could see Mas catching him. Masvidal won’t fight tentative like Colby and we’ve seen Leon get caught by pillow fisted Diaz.

Mas would also have the speed advantage as we’ve seen here. I see Leon getting caught with another 3 piece

He could possibly have a shot to beat him in a 'real fight'...by using sucker punch tactics like he did in their altercation.

In terms of MMA though he would be a heavy underdog. Still, looking at what Nate did to Leon its not inconceivable and I am sure Leon would want to stand and bang to prove a point.
Masvidal is not so far removed from elite competition to have no chance but the odds would be very much against him.
Still this is the fight to make, the money fight and the one Leon wanted instead of that disgrace of an American Gobblington so hopefully it happens.

I think the Masvidal that busted Diaz up could certainly give Edwards issues with his boxing and TDD.
He was elite at his peak IMO but I still struggle seeing him deal with the kicks and clinch, I don't think he'd be able to apply enough pressure to force Leon out of rhythm or get his jab going to dictate his type of fight. Probably runs into similar issues RDA did and gets frozen in the clinch by the strength of Leon... I do think he'd win a round or 2 just based on being willing to blitz and he's fast enough to track Leon's angles.


At this point though? Leon easily picks apart Masvidal. Mas showed against Burns he's not as sharp overall, is less athletic and isn't willing to pull the trigger anymore. Probably gets body kicked to hell.

A lot of that was Colby too even if he had his foot broke with the first head kick. Still a horrible performance. I didn't think Colby would win but if he actually pressure and threw like he usually was I wouldn't say it was an automatic win just because Colby and Usman are both wrestlers. This fight though Leon could out wrestle him if he wanted and his striking is even at worst. Masvidal towards the end just and brief moments of success on the feet. Would land one okay shot where Rogan would yell he hurt him but overall got dominated to a loss.
