I was expecting the Masdival fight to make him into a star because Jorge is a big name, but the guy still has under 1 million IG followers. He's a great fighter and has a good shtick but the casuals don't give a shit. The event probably did decent ppv sales but not because of Colby.

Khamzat is going to send him to LW, Dana was saying he wanted Colby to move down at the last press conference anyway.

Really want to see Colby vs Justin at LW. Maybe he can become more of a star at LW because it's a more popular division. I think you need finishes to be popular though. He's too pillowfisted and lacks submissions.

I understand the point. Jorge is a draw by himself. Put him up against anyone and it will do good numbers. Colby is a draw because of his act and the conflict it brings with other famous fighters. If he has a fight with someone he is friendly with or not manufacturing beef is anyone going to watch because of his entertainment in the cage? You watch Kamaru/Izzy/Francis/Yan/Gaethje/Chandler etc because they are either incredibly entertaining or skilled and if they have an interesting storyline in addition it adds to it. You watch Colby fights BECAUSE of the storyline, so much so no one seemed to be talking about the huge chance Masvidal just gets wrestlefucked and it's a relatively boring fight.

I still think Colby is insanely talented but his style is boring and his act is larger than life so almost all his "attention" is for the conflict he has with other people.
