Publisher: SIE

Developer: Insomniac Games

Engine: Proprietary/In-house

–––

Fun fact: The engine used had to be adapted from Marvel's Spider-Man to account for Wolverine's uniquely darker and more combat-violent tone.

Fun fact: The plot centred on Logan features an ensemble cast from comic hero mythology.

Fun fact: Insomniac was vocal with Marvel about wanting Wolverine specifically more than any other comic character for their next project.

Fun fact: Launching Pro-enhanced.

Fun fact: Survived a 2023 ransomware attack that also compromised developer personal data; PS Studios notably rallied behind Insomniac in support as did the greater game industry.

My only concern here was the blood/gore and insomniac nailed it. I'm hyped for this one. Now I'm very excited for them to eventually do X-men.
Same but both brutality and chaining claw ATKs look really good. I bet there’s a viscous death from above in this too with some 12-6 stab.

I wonder how they’re going to handle his healing abilities mechanically

My guess is being aggressive and landing hits fills up a regeneration meter and then you can use that when you think you’re going to die. Honestly isn’t that like Spider-Man in some ways? The other way is staying idle and automatically recovering but I don’t think they’ll do that as that will prioritize being too safe and I think the devs want us going aggressive

Very welcome surprise in this video for fans of the Spartacus series.

Andy did a great job playing the slave seeking revenge and Liam made a believable leader. Both were great in their respective roles. Kind of funny that this actor finds himself once again filling big shoes. This time Hugh Jackman since that’s who people know Wolverine as. From the trailer I think he’ll bring an awesome performance.

I played the X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition) game earlier this year. It wasn't bad. Better than the movie, frankly.

I'm expecting this game to blow it away.

You ever play X-Men: Wolverine's Revenge?

I did not. I'm sure I could easily find it and run it in compatibility mode if it was worth it.
I misremembered the name. It was X2: Wolverine's Revenge. Based on the cover and name you'd think it was a tie-in with X-Men 2 film but it was an original story.

Yeah, I found it. 2002. It had a PC version. GoG might have a modern version of it, but it wouldn't matter. It's usually easy to find the ISO of old games like that for free online, and just run them in compatibility mode for the version of Windows they originally targeted. Usually the jankiest thing you have to deal with is resizing windows because the game won't support a native resolution that goes up to 1080p+, and that's no issue except for shitshow software like Xbox Gamebar which for some stupid fucking reason sees the layout you've customized borked every time you launch a program in an old resolution re-scaled like that.

Fuck I hate Gamebar.

I love the line written for Logan about death and it reminding me of like from Kratos in Ragnarök.

Logan goes, 'Death's always waiting. But not for me.'

Kratos said, 'Death can have me when it earns me.'

O, love these. Man biz.

He was really good as Spartacus, but he was never going to get out from under the shadow of Andy Whitfield, who was incredible. That first season is one of the goats of anything put on a screen. The only good thing that came from that awful tragedy was Gods of the Arena, loved the Gannicus backstory.

Now he has to follow Jackman, but at least it's a video game, and no one expected Jackman to voice act, so he can make it his own and shine.

The game looks like a banger, glad it's visceral/violent and taking place place in multiple locations.

I like the fact the developers are comparing his performance to Jackman's, but the fans shouldn't. Two completely versions of the character in two different mediums of entertainment.

And this game has the advantage of not having to tone down the violence for a PG-13 rating, and can surpass the two R-rated Wolverine movies.

If that trailer is reflective of the game as a whole, we might being seeing something on the same level of fire as the GoW trilogy.
