Marcelo Garcia is widely known to be the p4p best grappler on the planet. But Roger Gracies name has been coming into the mix alot lately. Who really is the best? Is Roger as good as they say? THoughts please.

Nah Roger sucks dude. All he has is size and LnP :D Roger is the best submission grappler period.
 
But Imagine if marcelo was rogers size. Holy crap, he would destroy everyone. Marcelo is the best ever.

I always thought additional size would hinder Marcelo. Being Roger's size would not help whatsoever.

marcelo is the greatest grappler ever period. i can name a few grapplers rogers has never beat. but the fact is marcelo is the best pound for pound grappler in the worlds.

so does that make saulo the best there is. because he beat roger and no roger has never beat him. no marcelo is the best grappler right now.

If you have bias towards no-gi, I'm puzzled as to how Arona and Monson aren't there, and how Jacare and Marcelo are above Roger.

No, I believe it's the five gold medals in the Worlds at his weight class, coupled with four silvers and one gold in the absolute at the worlds which makes him better. Oh and an ADCC weight class; Absolute & Superfight championship to his name. Not being beaten by Marcelo is the icing on the cake really.

i think the icing on the cake your smelling is the fact that saulo got choked out by marcelo and saulo almost choked out roger now thats grappling math.:D
 
now how many times is marcelo garcia took gold at his wt. class in adcc and placed in absolute compared to roger hmmmm. answer me that. and by the way marcelo is the greatest grappler of all time:)

Lol, I do love grappling math. Although Roger states Xande was the closest to tapping him with his triangle.

More grappling math. Mental stability > Terere > Marcelo.

Well Jacare is one weight class below Roger and he beat him with the gi. So that's enough to overcome the no-gi loss. P4P, at least.

Marcelo is two weight classes below Roger, so even though he lost to Roger Gi and no-Gi I still subjectively think he's better.
