This has to go into the UFC HOF fight wing…

Sad that Cody’s career got derailed since but this was truly an incredible performance especially considering how smart Cruz thinks he is…😂

Shout out to @bigfootsbreath for these aweome gifs…

His boxing looked terrible now compared to how it used to look. I don't know what happened. He looked like he had TJ's number in the first fight before the headkick as well, and was on a tear for a few fights before that, so it's not like he just had this one fight of brilliance

I wish he would have put his foot on the gas and stopped clowning a bit and finished him, it's very sad how far he's fallen.
Getting assaulted by a proven cheater derailed him. Personal problems as well.

Still an exciting fighter.

What is crazy to me, is that he only had one performance this good in his entire career... The stars aligned for a masterclass... then we found out he has questionable defence, a weak chin, horrible fight IQ... just athleticism basically.

Cody's prime lasted few minutes.

top 5 all time title winning performance from a contender. TJ vs barao 1 is also a top 5 title winning performance. BW is awesome.

IMO it's like a top 3 title fight. Jones vs Shogun was also up there just cause Jones was so young and a last minute replacement.

Boy did it ever change him, I thought TJ was out in that first round then boom he comes back to win by KO and took Cody's soul in the rematch.
Given what we know now about Dillasnake’s supplementation…. 🤷‍♂️

People forget, but he was beating EPO TJ, rocked TJ and was seconds away of finishing him in their first fight. TJ was saved by the bell. Could barely walk back to his corner, was still wobbled and everyone thought he would just get KO’ed when the second round started. Cody got way too overconfident seeing how easy that looked, got caught and never really recovered.

Yeah people forgot how good he looked in the first TJ fight as well. I was rooting for TJ and remember thinking holy fuck how good is this Cogar guy, he's even making TJ look like he doesn't belong in there.

It really was. I picked him to win that fight but I thought he was gonna catch Cruz coming in with a big shot and put him away. Never in a million years did I expect him or anyone to go out there and dominate Cruz at his own game. He did to Cruz what Cruz had been doing to everyone else.

i've never seen such a fall from grace in MMA.

but yeah that night was something to behold. we had never seen anyone do that to cruz.

I know those clips are only a couple of seconds but it's hard to connect that absolutely dog shit striking on display by Cruz with someone that had won 8 consecutive title fights against the best the division had to offer.

In terms of masterclass maybe so. It wasn't competitive though so from that perspective then no.
